As the school administrator, I must work with the administrative and leadership teams to set clear procedures to ensure all students can reach their highest potential and that we are good stewards of public funds.
Procedure for Use of Disaggregated Student Data
Use to identify student’s areas of improvement and strengths
Track student progress on a shared student achievement monitoring spreadsheet
Drive instructional decision-making; pinpointing needs for remediation or acceleration
Use data to evaluate instructional programming to assess their effectiveness
Procedure for Managing School Resources
Recruit, obtain, and retain highly-qualified teachers and staff
Maintain clean and safe physical environments within and around the school
Maintain an up-to-date inventory of equipment, resources, and materials
Institute clear and concise internal controls and procedures for school monies
Create a schedule that maximizes instructional time while also providing teachers with common planning to collaborate in PLCs
Allocate funding and time for professional development opportunities
Spend funding wisely
Procedure that will protect the welfare of students
Comprise a Leadership Team of diverse stakeholders to develop and regularly evaluate a school safety plan and train all personnel annually
Maintain a secure physical environment by keeping outside doors and classroom doors locked at all times
Require all visitors to buzz into the office and check in before moving about the building
All personnel remain vigilant and question anyone out of the ordinary in the building
Partner with local authorities to place an SRO in the building and maintain regular visits by patrol personnel
Procedures for Working with Parents and the Community to Improve Student Learning
Create an open and welcoming school climate
Foster trust with stakeholders by using various methods of communication that are clear and transparent
Schedule opportunities for parents and community members to participate in student learning, such as family curriculum nights, festivals, career fairs, cultural fairs, “adopt a student” lunch buddies, etc.
Maintain up-to-date event calendars and Social Media posts to inform stakeholders about the rich experiences offered to students
Maintain an open-door policy and actively listen to those who come in to speak with me
