*ABOUT US*
Welcome, Suffolk and Nassau County residents! This group's mission is to support both the brave and essential workers in need of Personal Protective Equipment and their generous neighbors who are willing to come together to make these masks, surgical caps, gowns, headbands, face shields, and more.
Some brilliant volunteers on the administration team put together this website, where you can find request forms, volunteer forms, and maker guides. If you have any questions you can always email us at Licovid19supplies@gmail.com.
If you are an essential worker who is in need of supplies, please fill out the PPE Request form. Your neighbors will lovingly work to create and provide you with the homemade protective equipment you request.
If you are a Suffolk or Nassau County resident who wants to contribute, there are SO many ways to help: sewing PPE products, delivering materials and finished items, using your 3D printer, donating common household items, and more. Please fill out the Donor / Volunteer form to let us know how you can help. It takes a village - or in this case an island!
Please note: Homemade PPE items do not guarantee protection against transmission of any diseases, but there is significant data to support the use of physical barriers to reduce transmission of airborne droplets, which can infect you with respiratory viruses. Commercially available PPE items meet regulatory guidelines, but homemade PPE items may not. Due to variability of materials and construction, these PPE items’ safety or effectiveness for personal protection is not proven and cannot be assumed. Thank you and best wishes.
