Extra Insurance for the program
If you ever want to see where and how the money is being spent, don't hesitate to ask.
Sure it's $50 now but will we be asked to fundraise later?
No there will not be any fundraising for this program. $50 is all you will be asked to pay.
Why does it Cost $50? I’m Already signed up for St. Clair Little League why doesn't SCLL just provide this type of program
SCLL is for everyone and while this program invites all skill levels there is a difference. We are looking for kids who are committed/passionate about baseball and want kids/parents' buy-in.
In short…We want kids/parents to be fully committed to improving at baseball. We felt charging a fair amount would help encourage both the player and parents to commit to the program.
You do not have to be in both you can choose to just SCLL and that is 100% Ok
We know this is a higher level of commitment and honestly, get as many free weekends as you can right lol
Do not feel like you have to sign up for this. Your child will be just fine playing in the SCLL regular season.
I am not sure of my son's talent level, should we still sign him up?
Yes, all skill levels are welcome. We feel that no matter their current skill level, they will only get better by joining and buying into this program. Remember you will only get out what you put it.

When are practices?
The weekends…This will depend on how many kids we have. If there are a large number in each age group we will spilt them up between days and or times.
They will be on Saturdays or Sundays (this is still being worked out) and will not be every weekend, but most during the SCLL season. They will be for an hour and a half to two hours.
A Schedule will sent out with dates and times. When set in stone.
Where will practices be located?
We will have all our practices at the SCLL Fields unless otherwise communicated to you.
When will the games be?
The plan is not to play in any games or tournaments. The goal for each child is to learn the game, get better, and grow their love of it. We will incorporate scrimmages into practices towards the end of the season.
Why only 6&7 year olds?
The goal is to expand to other age groups but right now we are trying to make SCLL better with the younger kids learning and growing. If someone wants to set up and provide for the older kids please let us know.
Why no Softball?
Softball will be doing a very similar program with Leo Colantuono. Very much in line with this.
Who will the coaches be?
Matt Karas, Tom Brenner, Derek Drugach, Justin DeRue and more. The goal is to have a special guest coach every week to offer variety and different insights into the game. We also hope to have the older kids who have gone through The SCLL program helping each week.
Will the coaches have background checks?
Yes, absolution. Just like all St. Clair Little League coaches are background checks.
There will be no ONE-on-ONE training done alone. This will all be in a group setting.
What will a typical practice look like?
This will be more intense than a normal LL practice.
Baseball practice is a focused and fun environment where players hone their skills through detail-oriented drills, fostering both improvement and a love for the game. It’s all about mastering the fundamentals while enjoying the process as a team. Kids are expected to come ready to learn and listen. If they are being a distraction for the whole group they will be asked to sit out until they can follow along without distraction.
Practice Plans can be found HERE
Why must I be registered for SCLL?
This is a feeder program for SCLL to improve the league overall.
What if I can't afford it?
Please contact us so we know ahead of time. This program is not about the money it's about learning and being better players. But again we felt a fair amount of money was needed to get the program up and running and show commitment from players and parents
What if I am not signed up for SCLL?
You have to be, at least eventually.. We will be cross-referencing before shirts and hats are ordered. If you are not signed up for SCLL you are asked to sign up asap or offered a refund.
What if I miss a practice?
You will not be penalized but keep in mind that you will only get out of the program what you put in. We do not expect perfect attendance from everyone or anyone for that matter. But we hope to have the schedule out far in advance so you know the practice dates. Also, in the big picture, them missing practice at 6 or 7 years old isn't going to be setting that back much now is it lol.
Is there a refund policy if things don't work out?
Full and partial: Full if you request before shirts and hats are ordered. Partial of the $50 if you request after they are ordered.
