This is the privacy policy for all of the "scary alien" apps.

None of the apps collect, send, or transmit any information outside of the device it's used on.

The apps themselves only use the information that you either enter or the app itself acquires via the Android APIs (which are restricted by the specific permissions that the app requests and that are published in the Play Store listing). Here are the details about the various permissions used by each app:

AFV - Legacy

  • This app has NO extra, explicitly declared permissions.
  • The android.permission.READ_PHONE_STATE was auto-added by an old version of the Play Services library when the app was first compiled. This app does nothing with the phone state/status or identity.

AFV (Android File Verifier)

  • The android.permission.READ_EXTERNAL_STORAGE permission was added to allow reading of the external storage (SD card) for the selected file being verified.

OTA Verifier

  • The android.permission.READ_EXTERNAL_STORAGE permission was added to allow reading of the external storage (SD card) for the selected file being verified.
  • android.permission.ACCESS_SUPERUSER - now deprecated permission no longer required by SuperSU (i.e., it does nothing)

RAM Truth

  • This app has NO extra, explicitly declared permissions.

Root Toolkit for Android

  • This app has NO extra, explicitly declared permissions.

Storage Truth

  • This app has NO extra, explicitly declared permissions.
