I started ballet when I was eighteen months old, when my mom first took me to a dance studio. Three years ago, I began learning Chinese dance and fell in love with how I can combine ballet with Chinese culture.
Each movement, costume, and expression tells a classical Chinese story. Through dancing, I’ve come to better understand and appreciate Chinese culture — a cross-cultural journey I truly enjoy.
Ten hours of training each week and an extra hour of daily self-practice has strengthened my self-discipline and resilience, helping me grow into a stronger and more confident dancer on the stage.
I am becoming a dance art engineer, through the project "STEM On Dancing". Under the guidance of instructors, I worked with my team to design and create programmable props for the Chinese dance Jasmine Flower.
