Thank you for using our mobile application "ScanX:QR Code & Barcode Scanner" (hereinafter referred to as "this App" or "we"/"us"). We are committed to protecting your privacy and have prepared this Privacy Policy to explain how we collect, use, disclose, and protect your personal information. This Privacy Policy applies to all users, including residents of the United States.
Important Note: This App does not require you to create an account. You can directly use our QR code and barcode scanning features.

Scan Content: Information contained in QR codes and barcodes you scan using this App (such as URLs, text, contact information, etc.), or images you manually input or select from your gallery for recognition. This content is saved locally on your device by default, and we do not automatically upload it to our servers. When you use cloud-based features (such as selecting images from your gallery for recognition), images may be temporarily transmitted to our servers for processing. After processing, you may choose to download or delete the results.
User Feedback: Your contact information (such as email address) and the content of your feedback when you contact us via the in-app feedback function or email.
Device Information: We may collect technical information about your mobile device, such as device model, operating system version, unique device identifiers (e.g., IDFV, IDFA if you authorize), IP address, device language, and region settings. This information is used to ensure the App functions properly, analyze crashes, and improve compatibility.
Usage Data: We may collect information about your interaction with this App, such as feature usage frequency, click behavior, session duration, crash logs, and performance data. This information helps us understand how users interact with the App and make improvements.
Camera Permission: To scan QR codes and barcodes, we need to request access to your device's camera when you use the scanning function. We only use the camera when you are actively scanning and do not access it in the background or without your permission. You can disable camera access at any time through your device settings.
Storage Permission: To save scan history or select images from your gallery for recognition, we may need to request access to device storage. You can also manage this permission through your device settings.
We do not actively obtain personal information about you from third parties, except when you explicitly choose to use third-party services to share content (e.g., sharing App content via social media, though this App itself does not offer account login functionality).
Provide Services: Enable QR code/barcode scanning, recognition, generation, and scan history management functions.
Improve Services: Analyze App usage, fix errors, and optimize performance and user interface.
Customer Support: Respond to your feedback, inquiries, or complaints.
Security: Monitor and prevent fraud, abuse, or other harmful activities.
Comply with Laws: Fulfill legal obligations or respond to lawful requests.
Service Providers: We may engage trusted third-party companies or individuals to assist us in operating our Services, such as cloud service providers (for processing image recognition requests you actively upload) and crash analytics services. These service providers only access information necessary to perform their tasks and are contractually bound not to use it for any other purpose.

We do not sell, rent, or trade your scan content or other personal information to any third party for their own commercial purposes.

Right to Delete: You have the right to request that we delete personal information we have collected from you, subject to certain exceptions (e.g., to complete a transaction, detect security incidents, comply with legal obligations, etc.).
Right to Opt-Out (No Sale): We do not sell your personal information, so this right is not applicable.
Right to Correct: You have the right to request that we correct inaccurate personal information we hold about you.
Right to Non-Discrimination: You will not be discriminated against for exercising any of the above privacy rights.
Because this App does not have user accounts, we cannot directly verify your identity through login. If you wish to exercise the above rights (e.g., request deletion of images we may hold about you if you have used cloud processing features), please contact us using the methods in Section 1 (by sending an email to zhaodingwang@outlook.com). We may need you to provide additional information to verify your identity (e.g., approximate timeframe of device usage, device model, etc., to help us locate relevant records in server logs) before processing your request. We will endeavor to respond to your request within the timeframe required by applicable law (45 days).
This App is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you are a parent or guardian of a child under 13 and you believe your child has provided us with personal information, please contact us immediately using the contact information above, and we will take reasonable steps to delete such information from our records.
Security Measures: We implement reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards to protect your personal information from unauthorized access, use, or disclosure. However, please be aware that no method of internet transmission or electronic storage is 100% secure.
Data Retention:
Local Records: Scan history saved on your device is under your control, and we cannot access it.
Cloud Processing Records: When you use the feature to select images from your gallery for recognition, the images you upload and the recognition results are retained on our servers for a limited time (typically not exceeding 30 days) to allow you to download or access them again. You may also manually delete these cloud records at any time via in-app functions. After that, these files are automatically deleted or anonymized.
Logs and Usage Data: We typically retain de-identified usage logs and crash reports for a reasonable period (typically not exceeding 12 months) for analysis and improvement purposes.
We may transfer your information (for example, when you use cloud processing features, images may be transferred to servers located in the United States or other countries operated by us or our service providers) to jurisdictions outside your country of residence. These countries may have different data protection laws. We will take appropriate safeguards (such as relying on Standard Contractual Clauses) to ensure your information receives the protection promised in this Privacy Policy.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we make material changes, we will post a notice within the App and update the "Effective Date" at the top. We encourage you to review this Privacy Policy periodically to stay informed.
