Your privacy is important to us. ScanQR is designed to perform QR scanning and QR generation while keeping your information on your device whenever possible.
This Privacy Policy explains what information the app accesses, how it is used, and your choices.
ScanQR requests access to your device's camera solely for scanning QR codes and barcodes.
Camera images are processed on your device and are not transmitted to North Origin.
If you choose to scan a QR code from an image, ScanQR requests access to your selected photo.
Only the image you choose is processed.
Your photos are never uploaded to our servers.
If History is enabled, ScanQR stores scanned and generated QR codes locally on your device.
This information remains on your device unless you choose to delete it.
You can clear your history at any time from the Settings page.
QR codes created within the app are generated entirely on your device.
When you export a QR code as an image or PDF, the exported file is saved only to the location you choose.
ScanQR includes a local URL inspection feature.
When inspecting a website address:
The analysis is performed entirely on your device.
URLs are not sent to North Origin.
URLs are not submitted to external reputation or security services.
Results are based on local heuristic analysis and warning indicators.
The inspection does not guarantee that a website is safe or free from threats.
The free version of ScanQR displays advertisements provided by Google AdMob.
Google may collect certain device information or identifiers as described in Google's own Privacy Policy in order to provide and measure advertisements.
North Origin does not receive your personal advertising data.

ScanQR offers an optional lifetime purchase called ScanQR Pro.
Purchases are securely processed by Google Play.
North Origin does not receive or store your payment information.
Most ScanQR functionality operates entirely offline.
Data created by the app remains on your device unless you choose to export or share it.
North Origin does not operate servers that collect your QR history or generated QR codes.
Depending on the features you use, ScanQR may request:

Photos / Media access
Internet access (for advertisements, opening links, Google Play Billing, and optional online features)
Permissions are only used for their intended functionality.
ScanQR may use the following third-party services:

These services operate under their own privacy policies.
ScanQR is not specifically directed toward children under 13 years of age.
We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time.
Any updates will be published on this page with a revised "Last updated" date.
