Scanner Program |TOP|

When I press the scan button on the scanner I get a choose program dialog. My 2 choices are Photoshop and Picasa. I want to add other programs, like Irfanview and plain old windows paint, how can I do this?

Current path is Control Panel\Devices and Printers, and then right click on your scanner and select SCAN PROPERTIES (not Properties). Select the Events tab and select radio button "Start this program" and select your scanner from the dropdown list.

The program is a shared service provided at no cost for federal agencies and the public to use. At its core is the Federal Website Index, a reference dataset listing all public federal .gov sites by agency/department. When used with pipes, this works well. For example, running ls | java -jar ... it prints out all the lines given from ls. However, when I just run java -jar ... with no input/pipe, it freezes and nothing happens. Even when I press enter and mash my keyboard it's still stuck. I can only stop the program by using ctrl-c. I think this is because there is nothing to read so Scanner waits until there is something to read. How do I read all lines from System.in without freezing, or is there a better way to do this? Thanks.

Edit:Whoever marked this as a duplicate clearly did not read my question. My question was to check if the System.in was empty to not freeze the program, not how to get past the input stage. It is freezing because there is nothing in System.in so Scanner is taking forever, but I want to check if there is nothing in System.in.

It's freezing because, as you said, there is nothing to read so Scanner waits until there is something to read, but you want to read all lines from System.in without freezing, it sounds kind of conflicting to me, it's not like reading from a file, we don't know how many lines whoever using your program is going to type in, unless the person tell us. I suggest you define a special character as end of input, for example, done, when the person decides he has finished, just enter done to end waiting:

what i want is to be able to report back to the scanner and make the scanner flash RED or Green LED.

After a quick google search for java examples on the scanner and a look on the SDK provided, I am not entirely sure this can be done without creating your own module for ignition. This is not my strong side though.

Thank you, unfortunately, creating and own module for ignition it is not my strong side either, but i believe that is the option, so it will be easier for me to develop and app outside ignition that communicates with SQL, it defeats the purpose of ignition, but since nobody else has even shown that this could be possible or any interest in help me with my situation, i really see no option. lucky for me. only four simple windows will use the scanner, so it should not be a problem to develop the app to do that. small windows app with 4 windows.should be pretty quick.

Going further, you need to start using the Zebra APIs. There a MANY types of interfaces/modes for the scanners. SSI, JPOS, etc. 2D scanners can even perform image capture for some models. With the other modes, you need to implement a module or import the java libraries to make use to read any data from the scanner (it will not just show up as a keyboard anymore). This is certainly tougher, but the API (depending on the mode) gives you much more control of the scanner such as remote triggering, changing configuration, blinking LEDs, etc. We are starting to look into this for our Ignition environment as we are moving most of our shipping operations over to Ignition, but with Perspective on the horizon we may just stick with HID mode as a deeper API integration would only be possible in Vision module.

We created a programming decision tree as well as programming videos (above) to help you decided on whether you should include professional programming with your scanner but we HIGHLY recommend adding programming.

Same Day Programming is only an hpe. file that contains HP Series Sentinel programming that we send via email. SD Card programming is a physical memory chip that contains your programming and we send it through USPS First Class PKG.

However, I just went to use the scanner on my main PC and I first attempted to open the scanner icon shortcut and it croaked (cannot start MP Navigator EX). Then I remembered my recent driver upgrade, so I went looking for scanner utility and couldn't find anything. I'm very confused. I can't remember from 10 years ago how the scanner stuff was set up, but I do recall it was tricky getting it set up correctly.

Actually, I did find the Navigator EX driver and I installed it. But I couldn't figure out what to open. The Device&Printer page didn't show a scanner. My old scanner shortcut on the taskbar got an error that it couldn't find something or other.

THe only lingering issue is the program icon is the default Windows icon, not the scanner icon. When I went to the Start Menu shortcut and selected Properties and selected "Change Icon", I got an error : "Windows can't find the file %ProgramFiles%\Canon\MP Navigator EX 4.0\mpnex40.exe" I fiddled around and resolved it.

The uninstall and reinstall will be different for the Mac. To remove the old version of the software, you can go into your application folder to remove the MP Navigator program so you can reinstall. In applications, you should see a folder for Canon Utilities. In Canon Utilities, you can drag any MP Navigator folders to the trash and then you can empty the trash.

You will need to download the ICA driver (mcpd-mac-mg5200-16_20_0_0-ea21_3.dmg) and the scanner driver (msd_-mac-mg5200-17_7_1b-ea8_2.dmg) under the drivers tab. You will also need the MP Navigator install from the software tab (mnve_4_0-mac-all-4_0_6-ea8_2.dmg).

I have a ImageFORMULA P-215 Scan-tini scanner which worked without any problems with my Lenovo X230 laptop running Windows 7 64-bit. However, I have been unable to get the CaptureOn Touch software to work on my Asus Transformer TA100T notebook running Windows 8.1 32-bit. The software and driver installation completed without any errors (without the scanner connected). But when I connect the scanner into the USB port and run the Capture On Touch software, it always comes up with a Microsoft Visual C++ runtime library error - Program C:\Program Files\Canon Electronics\P215\TouchDR.exe abnormal program termination.

I tried every possible troubleshooting approaches I could Google online including (1) doing running sfc /scannow (which found no integrity or corruption issues with my Win 8.1 system, (2) did a clean reboot disabling everything except the CaptureOn Touch software and it still comes up with the same error, (3) installing Visual C++ runtime library distributables for 2005, 2008, 2010, 2012, 2013 but still the error pops up. So basically, now I can't use this great little portable scanner with my great little transformer tablet/notebook.

Yes, same problem, on my old Sony Vaio S13 which I bought back in 2013, it worked. On this new Dell Precision 7530, it doesn't. It is really annoying. Everything else works, except this software for the scanner.

Same error here with Windows10 x64 and the DR.C225W. It's almost catastrophic to pay almost 400 bugs for a scanner and then it becomes completely useless due to a software update. I'm not even able to download old versions of the capture one touch software, which may still works.

I recently installed ubuntu 18.04. I installed the Seiko scanner program per their instructions. I checked it using terminal and the Bash command "lsusb" and the hardware detects the scanner. I use "Classic menu indicator" and it sees the scanner program; however, when I click on the program name, "image scan!for Linux" I get a message "could not send command to scanner. Check the scanners status". Does anyone have a solution for this problem?
