Scanly: QR & Barcode Scanner
Effective date: 21 June 2026 · Last updated: 21 June 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how Md. Nasar Uddin Redoy (“we,” “us,” or “our”) handles information in connection with the mobile application Scanly: QR & Barcode Scanner (“Scanly,” the “App”).
Scanly is built to be privacy-first: your scans, your history, and the codes you create stay on your device. We do not require an account, and we do not sell your data.
We do not collect, store, or transmit your personal information to our own servers.
The App has no sign-up and no user accounts.
Camera images are processed on your device only and are never uploaded.
Your scan history and created codes are stored locally on your device.
The only data leaving your device relates to purchases/subscriptions, handled by Apple and our payment infrastructure provider RevenueCat (see Section 5).
We do not collect your name, email address, phone number, contacts, precise location, or any account credentials. We have no server that receives your scans or personal content.
Camera input: When you scan, the camera feed is analyzed in real time on your device to detect QR codes and barcodes. Frames are not saved or transmitted.
Scan & creation history: Codes you scan or generate are stored locally on your device so you can view them in History. You can delete individual items or clear your history at any time inside the App. Removing the App deletes this data.
Safe Scan: Our link-safety check that warns you about suspicious or phishing links runs entirely on your device. The links you scan are not sent to us or any third party for this check.
The App asks for the following permissions only to provide features you choose to use:
Camera — required to scan QR codes and barcodes.
Photos — optional, only if you choose to scan a code from an existing image in your photo library. We access only the image you select.
Contacts — optional, only if you choose to save a scanned contact (vCard) to your address book.
Local Network / Wi-Fi configuration — optional, only if you choose to join a Wi-Fi network from a scanned Wi-Fi QR code.
You can change these permissions at any time in your device’s Settings.
Scanly offers paid subscriptions and one-time purchases (Scanly Pro). Payments are processed by Apple through the App Store; we never receive or store your payment card details.
To manage entitlements (for example, to know whether your subscription is active and to restore purchases), we use RevenueCat, Inc. RevenueCat processes a randomly generated app user identifier together with your purchase and subscription status and certain device/technical information for fraud prevention and to deliver this functionality. We do not provide your name or email to RevenueCat.
RevenueCat Privacy Policy: revenuecat.com/privacy
Apple privacy: apple.com/legal/privacy
The App relies on the following third parties strictly to provide its functionality:
Apple — app distribution and in-app purchases.
RevenueCat — subscription and purchase management.
We do not use third-party advertising networks, and Scanly does not display ads.
Data created in the App (history and generated codes) lives only on your device and remains until you delete it or uninstall the App. Purchase records held by Apple and RevenueCat are retained according to their respective policies. To delete locally stored data, clear your history in the App or delete the App.
Scanly is rated 4+ and is not directed to children under the age of 13 (or the equivalent minimum age in your jurisdiction). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
Because your scans and history stay on your device, they are protected by your device’s own security (passcode, Face ID/Touch ID, and system encryption). Communications with Apple and RevenueCat use industry-standard encryption (HTTPS/TLS).
Depending on where you live (for example, under the EU/UK GDPR or the California CCPA/CPRA), you may have rights to access, correct, or delete personal data and to object to certain processing. Because we do not maintain accounts or hold your personal data on our own servers, most requests can be fulfilled by deleting data on your device. For requests relating to purchase data, contact us using the details below, and we will assist or direct you to the relevant provider.
If you use the App outside the country where our service providers operate, your purchase-related information may be processed in other countries (including the United States) under appropriate safeguards.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will revise the “Last updated” date above and, where appropriate, provide notice within the App. Continued use of the App after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
