In short
Scanly keeps your scan history and settings on your device. They are not uploaded anywhere, and the app has no account, no login and no server of its own. The only data that leaves your device is what Google's advertising and consent services need in order to show ads.
Data stored on your device
Every code you scan or generate - its raw value, the type of code, and when it happened - is stored in private app storage that other apps cannot read. Your theme, sound, vibration and history preferences are stored the same way. Uninstalling the app deletes all of it, and you can clear your scan history at any time from the History screen.
Backup
If Android backup is enabled on your device, your scan history and settings may be included in your device backup, which Google stores encrypted.
Advertising
The app shows ads from Google AdMob. To do this, Google may process your advertising identifier, approximate location derived from your IP address, and information about your device and interaction with ads. Where required, the app asks for your consent first through Google's User Messaging Platform, and you can change that choice at any time under Settings, Ad privacy options.
Permissions
Camera access is requested only when you open the Scan tab, and camera frames are analysed on your device to find a code - nothing is uploaded. Internet access is used for advertising and consent only; scanning, history and code generation all work fully offline.
Children
Scanly is a general-audience app and is not directed at children.
Your data, your control
Because everything is stored on your device, you control it directly: delete individual scans or clear your entire history from the History screen, or uninstall the app to remove everything at once.
