Scanline ("the app", "we") is a QR code scanner and generator for Android. This policy explains what information the app handles, what leaves your device, and the choices you have. The short version: Scanline is built to keep your data on your phone.

QR codes are scanned entirely on your device. Camera frames and photos are never stored by the app or sent anywhere.
Your scan history is stored only on your phone and you can delete it at any time.
If the app shows ads, Google AdMob may collect limited device data as described below.
1. Information we do not collect
Scanline does not ask for or collect your name, email address, phone number, contacts, precise location, or any other personal information. The app works without an account and has no sign-in of any kind.
2. Camera and photos
Scanline uses your camera solely to detect QR codes. All processing happens on your device: camera frames are analyzed in real time and immediately discarded. They are never recorded, stored, or transmitted. When you choose to scan a QR code from a photo, that image is likewise processed on your device only. Scanline never uploads images anywhere.
3. Scan history
The contents of codes you scan or create (for example, a link or a Wi-Fi network name) are saved to a history stored only in the app's private storage on your phone. This history never leaves your device. You can delete individual entries or clear the entire history from within the app at any time, and it is removed permanently when you uninstall the app.
4. Network requests the app makes
Scanline connects to the internet only for these limited purposes:
Resolving shortened links. When you scan a QR code that contains a shortened link, Scanline contacts that link's server to discover the real destination so it can be shown to you before you open it. Like any web request, the operator of that server receives your IP address. Scanline sends nothing else.
Fonts. The app may download its display fonts from Google Fonts servers. This request includes standard connection information (such as your IP address) and nothing about your scans.
Advertising. See section 5.
UPI payment codes are handed off to the payment app you choose. Scanline does not process, initiate, or have any visibility into payments.
5. Advertising (Google AdMob)
Scanline may show ads served by Google AdMob. Some versions of the app ship with advertising disabled; when ads are shown, Google's advertising SDK may automatically collect certain data, including:
Device identifiers, including the Android advertising ID and app set ID
IP address, used among other things to estimate approximate (city-level) location
Ad interaction data (such as which ads were viewed or tapped)
Diagnostic and performance information (such as app launch time and crash-related data)
This data is collected and processed by Google under Google's Privacy Policy (https://policies.google.com/privacy). You can learn how Google uses this data at https://policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites. All data sent by the advertising SDK is encrypted in transit.
6. Your choices and controls
Advertising ID: you can reset or delete your advertising ID and opt out of ad personalization in Android Settings → Privacy → Ads.
Camera permission: you can revoke it at any time in system settings; the app will still let you create QR codes and scan from photos.
History: delete any entry or clear everything from within the app.
Data deletion requests: because Scanline stores your data only on your device, uninstalling the app removes it. For any other request, contact us at the address below and we will respond within 30 days.
7. Data security and retention
Scanline retains no user data on any server, because it collects none. Data the app stores (your history and settings) lives in Android's app-private storage, inaccessible to other apps, and exists only until you delete it or uninstall the app.
8. Children
Scanline is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. The app contains no social features and requests no personal information from anyone.
9. Changes to this policy
If we change this policy for example, when advertising is enabled or a new feature is added we will update this page and revise the effective date above. Material changes will be noted in the app's update notes.
