Scanix ("we," "our," or "the App") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we handle information when you use our mobile application.
Scanix is designed as a "Local-First" application. We believe your documents are your business.
Offline Operation: All document scanning, image processing, and PDF generation are performed locally on your device.
No Cloud Storage: We do not upload your documents, images, or extracted text to any external servers or cloud storage.
No Tracking: We do not use any analytics, tracking pixels, or third-party SDKs that monitor your behavior or collect personal information.
To provide the App’s core functionality, we require access to certain features on your device:
Camera: Used solely for capturing images of documents you wish to scan.
Storage / Photos Gallery: Used to import existing images for scanning and to save/export your finished PDF or image files to your device.
Text Recognition (OCR): Our text recognition feature uses on-device machine learning (ML Kit). Extracted text is processed locally and is never sent to the cloud.
Personal Data: Scanix does not collect personal information such as your name, email address, phone number, or location.
Document Data: We do not have access to the content of the documents you scan. All data remains within the App’s local storage until you choose to delete it or share it.
We do not sell, trade, or share your information with third parties.
User-Initiated Sharing: If you choose to use the "Share" or "Export" feature, your document will be passed to the external application you select (e.g., Email, WhatsApp, Google Drive). We are not responsible for the privacy practices of those external services.
All data is stored locally in the App’s private storage.
If you delete a document within the App, it is permanently removed from the local storage.
If you uninstall the App, all locally stored documents and data will be removed from your device.
We prioritize the security of your data by keeping it on your device. We recommend using device-level security (passcodes, biometrics) to protect the information stored on your phone.
We may update our Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new Privacy Policy on this page.
