## 🚀 Quick Setup Guide

### For Windows Users:

1. **Download** the ZIP file from the section above

2. **Extract** it to a folder like `C:\Games\SC_Translator\` or `Documents\SC_Translator\`

3. **Run** `SC_Chat_Translator.exe` as administrator (first time only)

4. **Configure** your preferred language in Settings

5. **Launch** Star Conflict and enjoy multilingual chat!

### First Time Setup:

- The app will automatically find your Star Conflict installation

- If it can't find it, manually select your `logs` folder in Settings

## 📖 The Story Behind the Translator

### From Personal Tool to Community Project

**The application was initially created as a simple console program for my personal use**, so I could access snippets of conversations I didn't know or didn't fully understand. Back then, I was diving deep into Star Conflict game, but the language barrier often left me puzzled during international matches.

**When my friends and family started playing Star Conflict**, it turned out that using the console solution was too cumbersome for them. They wanted something simple - just run and it works. This is how the prototype of today's program was created – a console with a Python GUI. It was basic, but it worked!

**The prototype had its flaws and very limited functionality**. When I decided to share this prototype with my Star Conflict friends, it didn't always work properly. Some would get errors, others couldn't configure it correctly, and the translations weren't always accurate. This inspired me to write a program that would be more functional and accessible to all players.

**This is how the project that resulted in today's program was born**. I worked on the program in my free time, between work, gaming XD and other responsibilities. What started as a personal tool for understanding the intricacies of some in-game chatter evolved into a comprehensive translation solution that now may helps other players communicate seamlessly in Star Conflict.
