SB Tide ("we," "our," or "the App") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your information when you use our mobile application, currently available for the Android platform.
A. Personal Data
We do not require you to create an account or provide personal information (such as your name, email address, or phone number) to use the App. We do not collect or store any identifying personal data on our servers.
B. Data & Device Information
SB Tide is designed to respect your privacy.
No Data Collection: The App does not collect, transmit, or store any usage data, performance logs, or crash reports on external servers.
Local Settings: Your app settings and preferences (such as your preferred graph view or Eco Mode status) are stored exclusively on your device.
C. No Location Tracking
SB Tide does not request or use your device's GPS or location services. Users manually select their desired NOAA station from the available list provided within the App.
SB Tide interacts with specific third-party services to provide its functionality. Each service has its own privacy policy:
NOAA API: Tide and weather data are sourced from the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration. No personal data is sent to NOAA other than standard technical headers required for API requests.
Google Play Billing: Support for the App is entirely voluntary via in-app donations. These transactions are handled securely by Google Play. We do not see, process, or store your credit card or banking information.
No Advertising: This App does not use any third-party advertising networks. Your experience is completely ad-free.
SB Tide is designed with a "local-first" approach:
Preferences: Settings like your preferred graph view, "Eco Mode," and station selection are stored locally on your device using Android's local storage.
No Cloud Sync: Your settings do not sync across devices and are deleted if the App is uninstalled.
The App is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
The App includes an "Eco Mode" (30fps/60fps toggle) to help manage battery life on your Android device. This setting is strictly for on-device resource management and does not involve any data collection or transmission.
We may update our Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new Privacy Policy on this page and updating the "Last Updated" date.
