Introduction
It is said that Library is a heart of the institute. Library plays vital role in the development of the students as well as the faculty members. Library is trinity of students, Staff Members & Resources. Library built collection and create tools to support teaching and learning. To provide better service to its users. The institute has established its library in the year 2009 for the students as well as for the faculty members.
A library endowed with the books and periodicals having rich, latest and updated information which forms the backbone of any educational institute. The library is enriched with sufficient quantity of technical books, journals, reference books as well as ebooks and ejournals which are required for teaching and learning .
Library gives support to the educational & research programs of the Institute by providing physical & intellectual access to the information. It consists of the Reference Section, Journal Section, Reading Hall, Digital library section, Multimedia Facility, Stack-Room etc. The library has unique collection of Handbooks, Textbooks, Reference Books, General Books, Print Journals, e-books ,e-journal and CDs etc. Previously SBPIM library uses Vriddhi software for its operations. The circulation system of books is based on Bar- Code.From 2021 we are started using Eduplus ERP , from 2022 We have shifted on Koha software with RFID technology all installation has done and we are using RFID technology for daily circulation .
The Library has one server, 10 PCs with other accessories which are meant for the users to access e Journals, e Books & Web OPAC, in addition to this Library has one Gate station ,one Book Drop Box installed outside the Library ,one Self Kiosk and one OPAC installed in Library with LAN . The Library is the part of Institute's wide Network. SBPIM Library subscribes N-LIST ,DELNET, ebooks from e-Pearson Library, Capitaline AWS ,Industry Outlook online databases with remote access and on IP address base all over LAN. In resource sharing we have Proquest, Science Direct and Knimbus digital library platform available with our PCET group of Libraries .
