what is Silent Book Club? it's the book club without assigned books, and no book discussions. it's the "introvert happy hour." you read your book, i read my book. and we do it in glorious comfortable silence because we're bookworms enjoying each other's company. :)

who runs this Silent Book club chapter? hi, i'm Rebecca! i run the central New Jersey chapter, and now i'm taking SBC to the open seas! as a cruise lover, this seemed like the most natural thing to do. :) reading + cruising? YES. organizers are volunteers and receive no monetary support from the Silent Book Club company. we do it because we're fellow bookworms who love getting introverts together.

do we talk about the books being read? you can! or don't. at the beginning of the meeting, there's time to meet people, chat, and then we go into a dedicated reading time of one hour. afterwards, there's another 30-ish minutes where you can chat with those nearby, but we don't do it as one big group.

who attends these meetings? you! anyone attending a meeting or following our instagram is a member. voila, you're a member! :D although i started this as my local chapter, doing this on cruises means we now can welcome literally anyone in the world! anyone who is on board is invited. :)

when do meetings happen? i'm organizing them as i book my own vacations. check out the schedule to see what's next!

where are meetings held? meetings will be on sea days. as i organize this with the cruise lines, as soon as i have a location confirmed, it'll be posted here and on instagram. and absolutely before we sail! add us to your afternoon plans. :)

how often do you have meetings? meetings will be on sea days. location and times will be shared as soon as i get confirmation from the cruise line.

is there a RSVP? there will be, but you can also just show up! i'm using the RSVP just to get an idea of what to expect, especially for the size of the venue, and any prizes we might do. an RSVP will be posted everywhere closer to sailing.

can i bring a friend? everyone is welcome! 

where do you post updates? we're on instagram (@sbcatsea) and no other social media for now. updates are also shared here on our website.

is there a mailing list? we're working on researching this option.

is there a newsletter? we may be starting a newsletter, will share more info soon.
