Dealing with Misinformation in Disasters

Emergency Response Guidelines
(1)In Case of a Fire
Shout "Fire!" to alert people nearby immediately.
Use a fire extinguisher to put out the fire.
If the fire is large, evacuate outside immediately.
Call '119' to summon the fire department.
(2)In Case of a Sudden Illness or Severe Injury
If someone is unable to move due to a sudden illness or severe injury.
Call '119' to summon an ambulance.
(3)In Case of an Accident or Incident
An accident or incident has occurred.
Call '110' to report it to the police.
However, during a disaster, calling "119" or "110" may not guarantee immediate assistance. Please be proactive about disaster prevention in your daily life.
Response to a Tsunami Warning
If a tsunami warning is issued, please evacuate immediately if you are near the sea or coastal areas. Quickly move to higher ground. Prioritize reaching higher ground over simply moving away from the sea.
Disaster Emergency Message Dial
Disaster Emergency Message Dial is a voice message board that is provided when a disaster such as an earthquake or volcanic eruption occurs, and is required when communication traffic to the disaster-stricken area increases and it is difficult to get through.

00000JAPAN(free-WI-FI)
The free Wi-Fi service "00000JAPAN" (Five Zero Japan), which can be used during disasters or mobile carrier network outages, can be accessed by following these steps:
Turn on Wi-Fi in the settings menu of your smartphone or computer.
Select the network name (SSID) "00000JAPAN" from the list of available networks.
Review the terms of service and tap "Agree" to start using it.
No ID or password is required, and there are no restrictions on usage time or the number of times you can connect. However, because there is no encryption or user authentication through registration, you should be cautious of potential malicious third-party networks posing as "00000JAPAN." It's very difficult to distinguish fake Wi-Fi networks, so use this service strictly for emergencies, limiting it to basic safety checks and gathering critical information.
The name "00000JAPAN" was chosen so that the SSID appears at the top of the list, allowing you to quickly find and connect to it during emergencies.

A message from me!
A friend of mine, who is running a small business here in Japan, recently asked me about the Nankai Trough, as they weren't familiar with it. I found a helpful explanation on the Japan Meteorological Agency's YouTube channel, so I thought it might be useful to share this link on your page.
The video provides a clear explanation of what the Nankai Trough is and how to prepare for it, all with English subtitles. Please feel free to review the video and use the information as a resource.
Additionally, there was an earthquake in Kyushu yesterday, and in response, the government issued a Nankai Trough Earthquake Advisory. It might be helpful to share this information with your friend. However, please be careful not to cause unnecessary worry, as it's important to remain calm.
