Urgent: Please attend!
March 9th, 6:00pm, in-person at Mission City Church, 1290 Pomeroy Avenue, Santa Clara
Against Santa Clara County's plan to build low barrier homeless shelters in residential and school-intensive areas!
According to the first public hearing on 2/13, Santa Clara County, Santa Clara City and LifeMoves are planning to turn the pumpkin patch park at the junction of Lawrence and Benton into a low barrier, container-style Homeless shelter with 80-120 rooms and a maximum of 240 single and no-child couple homeless.
There is no screening process. 60% of occupants will have mental problems, history of drug abuse and criminal records.
Typically more criminals and drug dealers will stay at the shelters than homeless families with values. Also the more news gets out there, the more homeless from other states will show up in our neighborhoods.
This is not a solution, it is a trap for California taxpayers and homeowners.
Attend the 2nd hearing at Mission City Church at 6 pm on 3/1, and 5pm the pre-meeting parade at Earl Carmichael Park against Santa Clara County's plan to build any low barrier homeless shelters in residential and school-intensive areas.
After two hearings, the plan will be decided! 2 weeks left to act. Email and call decision makers today!
So the next 2-3 weeks are extremely critical, please socialize with everyone around you.
