How students complete Savvas assignments in Brightspace

Student learning is simplified when students can access all of their assignments from one place. In this tutorial we will show you how easy it is for students complete Savvas assignments right from Brightspace. We will also show you how students can launch from their assignment into Savvas Realize to access additional resources.

Students completing Savvas assignments from Brightspace

Students access all of their Savvas assignments from their Brightspace course.

If you left the default settings for the how the item launches, students will be asked to open the assignment in a new window. 

If you or your students get a the following message:

Hang tight!
Your teacher must set up your class in Realize

All you need to do is open any Savvas assignment from your Brightspace course just once. This will prompt Savvas to create your class in Savvas Realize which must be done by the teacher.

Students work on their assignments.

If students need to upload a file, they can do so by click on the file icon.

Students can write comments to their teacher by clicking on the comment icon.

When the student has completed the assignment they can turn in the assignment. Note: There are different assignment types may have a different turn in process. 

Savvas Realize passes scores back to Brightspace once the item is graded. Students can view their grades in Brightspace.

Student launching into Savvas Realize

Students have the option to launch into their class in Savvas Realize by clicking on the Launch Savvas Realize button.

The student will be brought to the assignment in Savvas Realize. To get to their class page, the student must click the back icon.

Once the student is on the Savvas Realize class page, students can see the assignments they started in Brightspace as well as the assignments they completed

Students can access the eText and Tools for each of the Savvas programs by selecting Programs and selecting the program they are interested in.

From the Program page the student can click on the book icon to see the eText associated with the program.

To view the tools assocaited with the program, students can click on the tool icon.
