Step 2: Edit material settings
In Schoology you can edit the Savvas material to set:
Points and Grading Scale
Grading Category
Step by step directions
Click on the settings icon and then Edit.
Here you can edit the assignment settings including:
Points
Due Date
Category
Scale
Follow these steps to set up grading and the due date
Make sure Enabled Grading is Turned On
We strongly recommend that you leave Enabled Grading checked. If you do not want the assignment to count to the overall grade then change the Category to "(Ungraded)."
If you copy items from Schoology Resources, Schoology will set Enable Grading unchecked. Be sure to check Enabled Grading.
If you uncheck Enabled Grading after one or more students have started the assignment it will cause Savvas Realize to create a new class assignment.
Collected Type
Checking the Collected box will prevent grades from showing in the Schoology gradebook.
Set the max points
You have total control how grades from Savvas Realize are managed in Schoology; when Savvas Realize passes grades back to the Schoology gradebook Schoology automatically converts the Savvas grades to the scale and points you set in the Schoology material.
Choose a Category
If you want a Savvas item to show in your gradebook, make sure you change the Category from "Ungraded" to one of your categories.
If you do not want the Savvas item to show in your gradebook, make sure the Category is set to "Ungraded." You can always change your mind to show the grades since Schoology will be tracking the grades sent by Savvas.
Automatically Publish Grades
Unchecking the Automatically Publish Grades box will keep the grades unpublished in Schoology until you are ready to publish them.
Set a due date
Due date is optional in Schoology.
Schoology does not sync the due date with Savvas Realize. Click here to learn more.
Savvas Realize will set a due date of one month since the date that the first student opened the assignment.
