Sorry if they are long but they are IMPORTANT: I have a hard time being assertive/reinforcing boundaries so writing them here means avoiding anxiety-inducing conversations, because you'll already know who I write with and what I generally don't want to write.
The rules end at the paragraph about MY triggers and what I won't write, the rest is optional because it's about your comfort, like what I tag, my take on DNIs, and how to interact with me.
Hi! I'm Ele! // 35+ // she/her, aroace cis woman. Italian (so yeah, my English is what it is), gmt+1
high-activity when I get to be online, but I'm a tutor/have other blogs. When I'm low-activity priority goes to writing threads over talking to people.
Chronically ill, disabled, and with PTSD so my angst is vanilla, I focus on what makes me happy.
I'm introverted and tired so I may be able to chat for hours one day and then disappear for two months, unless we are commenting a thread.
Friendly! I've been writing on tumblr since 2012 with zero issues. This is a self indulgent blog: love clichés and in some cases I'm just here to explore a few relationships I already love. Bad memory! If you want me to unfollow hard-block or I'll re-follow!
I'm on at random hours, PLEASE like the 'if you are interested' post for the muses you want to interact with (found on my muses page and on each about page), so I know who I can use to interact with you. My memory sucks and this helps.
1. I only write with mutuals. Please don't take it personally if I'm picky, and don't offer characters I showed no interest in because I don't want to hurt your feelings if they aren't my type: I may not want to write because I'm uncomfortable with some aspect of your character or you don't tag nsfw references, or our styles won't mesh, I also have personal pet-peeves like uncut threads, or maybe I just can't abide to your rules, who knows. I read everything I can find before following. I'll send passwords AFTER being followed.
2. ALL my muses are either canon divergent, AU or OC: you need to read the bios for the ones you want at least once, just like I'll read yours. Obviously you can forget small stuff, BUT if the entire premise of my au is 'this character never betrayed the group' and in your FIRST reply you write like they did, it's mortifying to have to dm you.
3. I don't like jumping in blind and finding out I don't vibe with a character/dynamic too late, so I only write with canon characters from shows I know AND OCs or canon from other shows that have a bio. "OC" and "canon" for me are the same if I don't know the fandom.
4. Some communication is a must to keep threads going. If you are unwilling to answer questions like 'hey can I let this happen next?' I'm not the one for you. Plus, I match enthusiasm: if you never start anything nor show any interest, I'll stop too.
5. about some specific fandoms I write in, and you can skip this if not involved: for DC I only know and interact with Legends of Tomorrow which I love, and Supergirl. Fallout? Just the show and part of 3 & 4 (though my memories of the games are hazy), NO NEW VEGAS I don't want spoilers. I can't remember the lore NOR have memorized many side-characters and factions. Bg3? No Durges because I want to play as one first. Also your villains may find easier to interact with Torvic instead of Lex. The Walking Dead: I played the telltale game and I'm about to start season 11 of the main tvshow. Doctor Who: only starting from 9th, kinda lost track of 13th's plots (the Flux?), but I know that she's adopted/has infinite regenerations. I am fully back with the 15th Doctor. I don't know Doctor Who before 9 and I'm not interested in it. One Piece: I reached the very beginning of the Wano arc. I cannot remember Nami's canonical reaction to everything with my bad memory and in any case her personality is a mix of manga and show, so my Nami will have different dynamics with people (I'm not glossing over the trauma she went through). Reiju is 99% headcanons based too.
When it comes to MCU and x-Men: MY KNOWLEDGE of the lore is scarce, based only on movies and on the fact that I have memory issues, so I'm mostly remembering characters by their vibe and following your characterization. What I mean by mcu: main shows/characters from early 2010s avengers (not too comfortable with Scarlett Johanson) & ant-man's team, guardians of the galaxy, wandavision/agatha all along (I love Elizabeth Olsen but not as Wanda), agents of shield, loki the serie, thunderbolts, technically x-mcu but: deadpool and wolverine, and the various characters from the x-men series.
1. I only ship with rpers who are 21+; with some muses I will shamelessly prioritize romance but I'll never forceship.
Shipping is still one of my fave things in the world so I want to be clear on how it works with this example:
If in the "open to ship with" section of my character I wrote 'open to ship with CanonPerson and other men'
if you write CanonPerson you can send shippy things almost immediately, though I'd appreciate a quick hi ooc or at least a generic thread to see if they actually get along first because all portrayals are different;
if your character is a man but not that CanonPerson, either we write many threads and see if they along (I'm not going to ship something when they clearly don't have fun together) or we write a thread or two and plot in ims to make it happen (to be fair, it's always more fun if WE get along too, screaming about it in ims);
if you write a woman it'll just be friendship. Other muses will only be open to women or to all genders etc but not this one.
Note that for some more villainous muses I accept ships born out of mutually attacking each other, as long as it's not just one muse hurting the other.
I won't write with a completely unknown character with the intention of shipping, like threads leading to it even before we figure out if they get along, because if I don't like them as a couple it gets awkward. I want ships where characters like each other: if your idea of shipping is that you are fully focused on your muse and it doesn't even matter who I'm writing, mine is just there to fulfill the role of caretaker, I won't enjoy it at all. I'll want to see how my character gets into a romance with yours, which is probably why I could write the same ship with 20 different rpers for the same character: your portrayals are always different therefore the ships are unique.
2. none of my muses are submissive in ANY aspect of their relationships, including on/offscreen smut. Not that there *have* to be power-dynamics, but I know how much the fandom loves them and I want to avoid assumptions. I'm perfectly fine with no one trying to take control of anything.
3. I'll fade to black with smut unless I tell you otherwise (tagged as nsft and under read-more), based on my repulsion at the time. Due to said repulsion I focus more on emotions and vague actions than body parts.
1. please tag: 1) images of horror/gore (I'm excluding zombies) 2) all daddy kink references. Also 3) all sexual stuff: written or images even if fanarts. I will unfollow/not follow over this!
2. I WON'T WRITE: abusive relationships (I will write mutually toxic ones when it applies), nor roleplay rape. I prefer to TALK before hostility-heavy threads. I HATE bad endings (your or my character dying, permanently destroying a relationship etc).
3. I won't write threads WITH (due to finding them triggering or lacking interest, but you do you!):
deities/myths/religious figures like angels, demons etc with roots in real life religion (bg3's fictional demons are excluded, for example). Aliens that are called gods are fine. Fandom-specific creatures are fine. Supernatural is unfortunately not fine.
vampires, werewolves, and similar creatures outside of Buffyverse and BG3, and anything that has the power to attract my muses against their will. I've overdone it in the past, I'm sorry, not interested anymore!
OCs that are serial killers or similar, probably canon serial killers as well, but it depends on the type of fandom and what the word means (if your muse is a vigilante or on a vendetta-mission, it's fine, for example, if your muse just likes to collect women's heads? no). I'm not interested in 'Saw' type of threads!
little children in general and the "bratty teen" trope, with RARE canon exceptions. I don't want threads where my adult muse has to deal with tantrums or be pushed into babysitting territory. I love the 'mother or aunt figures' themes when it comes to older kids or even adult who need them, though.
no Harry Potter or anything to do with JK Rowling, no game of thrones, no asoiaf.
oc family members who change my characters' backstory, if they have new siblings they supposedly grew up with or you headcanon a different 'growing up time' for them, my muse would need to change.
strangers who are super hostile and dismissive without plotting first, because if my only choices are to make my muse leave or be ooc and submit, she'll leave. I have had way too many experiences when I'm supposed to have my character beg for attention from a stranger (?) and I simply dropped the threads, it soured the trope for me. If it's canon that they interact like that or if we plot ooc how to make yours chill, or decide why mine should stay, it's fine! I have hostile characters too, but I do everything possible in my threads to give your muse excuses to stay.
1. nsfw images and smut, if written, will be tagged "nsft" and I'll use read-mores. If you don't want to put yours under read-more it's okay, we'll just fade to black.
2. I'll write most types of common triggers and they'll be tagged "// trigger name tw".
Due to canon backstories, how rarer in rp and commonly triggering some are, you should read the about page of each character you want to rp with so you can blacklist the words/choose not to interact. I'm adding an initial paragraph just with those on each page. I'd suggest not reading my other threads.
3. I will not tag written things unless they are detailed (violence, references to gaslighting or ptsd etc), except for noncon in canon backstories.. I also tag everything with "muse: name" if you need to blacklist that. So basically: my Janey Howard saying 'my mother told me my dad wasn't real' is NOT tagged as gaslighting, Janey explaining how horrible it felt and more details WILL be. Kate Austen making even a remote reference to how gross her bio-dad could be: tagged. But that's why I'd suggest checking the character's page before interacting with them and not reading my other threads.
1. absolutely spam me with memes/replies (I'll adapt to your writing style as much as possible), the more I write the more I'm happy to be here. Also I don't do one-liners except for open starters. If you reply to an open I'll move it to its own new post. You can keep all the threads or drop them, same if I continue an answer you gave! It's rolePLAY not roleWORK.
2. I kinda suck at keeping up with fully-ooc conversation because I don't usually have a lot to share. Still, I try! But the priority goes to rp > fangirling ooc about rp or plotting > talking about us (due to the mental energy required). However! I give priority to people I talk with about plots/characters in private messages, because it's super fun to generally fangirl about our muses and come up with scenarios. This is the part that makes me choose rp over fanfiction. the interactions.
3. I want you to know that I will write with hundreds of the same muse if given the chance, and it's not because 'nobody matters and you are just numbers', it's because 'everyone matters' with a bit of 'I'm chronically ill and constantly online and unless you are in my time-zone and can instant-rp ten hours a day, I will have hours with nothing to do but write with other people, because it's the only hobby I can have while sick, and if I have to limit the number of people I can write with and maybe miss out on the chance to find more rpers I can click with (ic and ooc) I will resent you for it'. It wouldn't be fair to either of us to expect me to keep my 'duplicates' on low numbers, because 9 times out of 10 all my drafts are always done, and what am I going to do while online and in the mood to write if not dedicate myself to other threads too? You are not responsible to keep me entertained, you should live your life, but *I* am responsible to keep me entertained and I simply have more time. Not as much energy, probably, but I will end up whining about having nothing to write and lose inspiration for threads after people take their deserved time to answer, because I spent days with nothing. I also rped in 2012 with about 20 Killian Jones from the OUAT fandom, some I clicked with more than others but they were ALL different and special to me. So I will be writing with lots of people, because I'll like their personal styles individually, just like I hope you can interact with duplicates of my muses and still chose to also rp with me because you like MY style too.
You are entitled to choose who to follow, if you are not comfortable with my faceclaims it's within your right to not rp. However I want to point this out since it's a matter of morals to me: I use/may use some faceclaims that are considered 'blacklisted' by tumblr, because either they are banned with no proof OR I'm literally against the reason chosen to ban them, OR they are banned due to their words being interpreted in the most malicious way possible, and I can't tell if it's true or it's tumblr-fandoms pushing their agenda and destroying real people because of their fictional ships, OR I straight up don't know anything except their name because I choose based on their face and don't care about who they are nor can I research their entire life in case they said something gross. I don't even see how I'd be 'supporting them' when I pick a stranger's face on a role to add to my threads, which will be seen by 2-3 people at most.
Example: 'Eliza Taylor is married to Bob Morley, who was abusive to his ex and WE THINK they cheated on his ex' used as a reason to ban her: I don't have enough information on whether he was abusive or was actually the victim of his ex, especially since the ex was also accused of abusing him, and I refuse to blindly believe every unsupported claim I hear: as far as I know Bob may be the victim and I will not be piling on. AND if he was an abuser, why the hell would I blacklist his current wife, who may be a victim herself? Makes no sense. No way to know if they cheated either. It's also possible Bob had a toxic relationship with his ex in which they were both terrible to each other, they are strangers so I cannot possibly know, but I've seen plenty real life relationship where both parties have psychological issues and make each other worse, and then one of them gets help, breaks up, and is a better person while still suffering. How do I know this isn't what happened to Bob? I don't, so I'm not going to ban him and I'll ban his current wife EVEN LESS because she has nothing to do with this. Further, even if I hated Eliza Taylor using her face to roleplay in my blog doesn't benefit her in any way.
I was in the OUAT Fandom when Jennifer Morrison was accused of "supporting rape culture and being homophobic" because she liked a tweet about a tea made by a fan, which was dedicated to Jen's canon ship in her current show (with a fictional man who was never shown to be a rapist, just to make innuendos, which the haters interpreted in the worst way possible while Jen's character was cool about them) and her next crime was that she didn't spontaneously like the tweet about a tea made for a wlw fanon ship right after (with a fictional woman who was an onscreen rapist, from fans that had been constantly demanding more real-life interactions between her and the actress who plays the other woman), and things got worse with people accusing her of 'gay panic' because she kept distance from the other actress, with whom she was clearly not friends with but just coworkers. That was enough to make that kind of accusation, and don't get me started on what fans did to Melissa Benoist for the same type of shipwars. I have more examples like that, so unless I have a good understanding of the situation and/or things are blatant, I will not be banning without context, when tumblr is so unreliable.
I don't keep myself updated on celebrities' lives in the slightest, so I wouldn't know if anything new come up, so if one of them does or says something objectively racist, transphobic etc do let me know. But rumors and subtext don't count.
