wanted interactions: people from the buffyverse including ocs. I don't write them before s5 and with most I default to 'after' the end of the show. No comics. See canon divergence though, especially in s6.
Open to ship her with: only Spuffy (if NOT written darker than in canon and with the Divergence). I'm NOT an Angel hater. Dawn with *maybe* Connor and other boys her age.
fc: sarah michelle gellar, iconless maybe
fc: hayden panettiere due to Michelle passing
Potential triggers: everything present in the original serie
First of all, I've been wanting to write Buffy for years and never did because I didn't think I could capture the dialogue. I still don't think I can but I've decided I don't care and it will be up to you to decide if it's good or not.
That said:
The most important thing for everyone to read: I will not consider the s6 bathroom scene canon. There are several reasons for this, including not finding it necessary nor in character for Spike at this point. I also cannot stand the reasons behind the scenes for it and the blindness from the writer who was speaking of her own experience.
What happens in the bathroom here (unless you are a Spike rper who have a different idea), is that he tries to turn her into a vampire: he bites her and she's too injured to fight at first, so he drinks a lot of her blood. That is more than enough trauma. Later, when she faces Warren, he's able to hurt her more because of this. This is default unless you need me to change it, both my Buffy and Dawn will remember it that way UNLESS my Dawn interacts with your Buffy/Spike and you don't want it. I'm also okay with them having had a toxic relationship, both sides, and him coming back with a soul.
-If you write a Spike and feel I'm godmodding you, you do you, we simply won't write. This divergence is also happening regardless of us shipping or not, all Spike rpers can opt out the ship and even rewrite his feelings to be platonic.
while there are actions and even feelings that I didn't like before season 6, I will consider it all canon without changing anything. EVEN running after Riley. I do NOT ship Buffy and Riley. Dawn has only good memories of him apart from him leaving and will be friendly.
situation with Faith is complicated because I love Faith but what she did in Buffy's body and in general was so... violating that I don't think Buffy will ever be able to see her as a friend. Friendly coworker, yes, but friends? Too hard. Dawn is less traumatized and may become friendlier as time goes by.
I don't hate nor ship Buffy and Angel (if his personality is like in his show, then yes, I can ship it, but on the other hand his show made me ship him with Codelia more), I recognize his importance in her life and she'll always have some form of feeling for him, but the older she grows, the more it will fade. This is also because I do ship Angel and Cordelia, and I don't like the idea of him being 'in love with Cordy' and then ready to run back to Buffy months after Cordy has horrifically died. Dawn was too young to remember enough, so they have had very little interactions.
when it comes to Dawn and shipping, I'm thinking maybe Connor if interactions go that way (not because they are both teenagers but because I genuinely think they could have had such interesting talks in canon), otherwise other boys around her age. She's still in high school at the end of s7, I write her when she's finished and I'll never even entertain her and Xander together.
Another canon divergence is that when Buffy's kicked out of her house in s7, she'll still come back and be chill with her friends like in canon, but after all is said and done, this will be discussed/come up and my version of Buffy is not happy.
Open to more canon divergences, people surviving etc
my idea is that after season 7 the council will be built again, because watchers are more needed than ever, and they'll follow Buffy and Giles' teachings. Dawn will become one of them. The slayers will receive a modest salary (the government was involved in season 4, it can get involved again). So Buffy will keep slaying and leading a smaller group, and when too old to do it she intends to become a Watcher herself. This is when most interactions will happen.
If you are a Spike and ship Spuffy, I'm also open to write the ship happening differently/being less dark from the beginning, and similar things. But I only ship them if he's written like in canon, not darker. In fact, I'd love some day to write a more 'comedic' getting together that is closer to the beginning of s6, when they had moments of getting close and then Buffy pulled away again all sorts of confused.
-season 6 canon divergence - she goes into a coma instead of dying. Willow uses dark magic to force her out. She's way less messed up because she didn't go to heaven nor had to claw her way out of her grave, this season is more about Buffy starting to really come to terms with life as an adult without a mother, paying bills, taking care of Dawn, confusing feelings for Spike, and way less angst. There will be some other enemy that will target potential slayers and lead to Buffy sharing her power.
-season 5 canon divergences with Spikes: she and Riley break up way earlier due to his loss of extra strength, Spike and Buffy get weird with each other waaaay earlier. She can still die and we can explore a less toxic season 6 since they were already kinda together and he canonically chooses to keep doing good even when Buffy is dead.
-after the show/season 7 less pacifist canon divergence: Buffy doesn't really make up with the rest of the team after being kicked out of the house. She keeps distance, cooperates, still comes up with the plan to share her power, and when it's done she sorta goes off on her own because she needs to recover and is sorta having a breakdown again. Understandably, considering everything she went through and how easy it was for her and her friends to split up. There are other slayers anyway, and people who take care of Dawn, who agreed Buffy shouldn't stay, so while she always keeps an eye out for her sister and she'll return, it will be more complicated. Old problems will resurface too, including addressing Xander's choice not to tell her Willow was restoring Angel's soul, which Buffy only recently found out about, Giles' betrayal etc etc CAN ONLY BE WRITTEN IF YOU DON'T TAKE IT PERSONALLY.
