Water is the name of the liquid state of H2O.
Is Water essential?
Yes, we all know that water is essential for the existence of not only Human Beings but also for all plant and animal life. Plants need water to grow and prepare their food. Animals depend on water for their survival and well-being.
Without water, there would be no life possible on our planet Earth.
Hence, it is a social responsibility for all of us to Save Water.
Forms of Water in Nature
Water is the only substance in nature which can exist in three states-Solid, Liquid and Gaseous.
On Earth it is seen as surface water present in all forms of water bodies like the Rivers, Oceans, Lakes, etc.
Water is also present under the ground level as Groundwater.

Surface Water
The main source of surface water is rainfall. Though, sometimes the first rain of the season is a little acidic as it accumulates the impurities present in the air before it falls on the ground.
Other sources of freshwater present on the surface of Earth are rivers, ponds, streams, and lakes. Here, the water comes from streams of rivers which originate from melting glaciers.
Groundwater
Groundwater comes from natural seeping of the rain water into Earth's soil. This is called Percolation of different forms of precipitation like rainfall, snow, sleet, and hail.
Uses of Water
For drinking and living purposes.
In agriculture.
In industries.
For recreational purposes.
For domestic purposes.
