Dear School Committee Members,
The disparity between what the Newton South Music Program was a few years ago and what it is today has reached an unacceptable dimension.
As a community, we are simultaneously letting our children down and disregarding a beacon of mental health, discipline, creativity, and excellence in art.
As our elected officials, I beg you to take this opportunity to reinstate the funding the program needs to 2.7 FTE to fulfill its mission and potential.
Respectfully,

Dear Mayor Fuller,
The Newton South Music Program has been underfunded for years now and suffers serious and potentially irreparable cuts in the next academic year.
As a community, we are simultaneously letting our children down and disregarding a beacon of mental health, discipline, creativity, and excellence.
We are asking that you stop the erosion of this invaluable program. Please make sure that ARPA funds are added to the School Committee budget, as requested by the City Council, and that a part of those funds are used to restore the music staffing at South to 2.7 FTE (in parity with North), and, then, please reinstate the full complement of courses that make the music program at South so outstanding.
Respectfully,
