Marysville School District No. 25 Board is creating a parental consent policy for non-curricular clubs.
This policy will create barriers for all clubs but directly targets the Safe Space Club, a student-led club that supports LGBTQ kids.
Please help us show vulnerable children that they are not alone. Join us in extending welcoming and loving arms rather than confusion and shame. Stand up, firmly and unequivocally, for kids who need it by taking the actions listed below.
Completing BOTH of these options is recommended, since there is strength in both united collective action AND individual stories.
OPTION ONE:
Sign your name on the WEA letter to the Marysville School Board: https://bit.ly/3wIpHL5
OPTION TWO:
write your own letter and email the board letting them know that you and your family do not support their policies targeting LGBTQ+ youth.

On Tuesday June 21, the board has a scheduled meeting. Show up to gather with other community members who want to show support to our LGBTQ+ students.

Board meeting 6:00pm
At the June 21st school board meeting, make your voice heard! Follow the link below to sign up to speak at the meeting. A limited number of community members are allowed three minutes each to speak - you do not have to take the full three minutes, but this is one of the most powerful ways to take action for our kids.
At the last couple of meetings we have heard from concerned students and community members, and it is so inspiring to hear so many brave voices. Let's get a line around the block of people willing to speak up for our kids!!
Directions to sign up can be found here
Your story is powerful and valuable.
If you are a current student - how important are clubs that provide a safe environment for LGBTQ+ students? If you are a former student, what kind of impact would a Safe Place club have had on you as a kid? Please share your story here.
Share with your friends and neighbors what is happening in our community. Share images and news stories on social media. (See "Images to Share" tab) Invite your friends to come sign waving on Monday. Post in your mom groups and your book clubs and community pages. Encourage your friends to join you in taking real action to support the vulnerable kids who need us the most.
