Join the Save GSEHD Coalition.

On Wednesday, February 25, 2026 at 2:00pm, members of the Save GSEHD Coalition and the Socialist Action Initiative (SAI) delivered our Open Letter addressed to President Granberg and the Board of Trustees to Provost Lach. 

Today, over 600 signatories (listed below), including students, prospective students, alumni, faculty, staff, organizations, scholars and concerned stakeholders, have signed the Open Letter in solidarity with the Coalition’s efforts to sustain our beloved community of the Graduate School of Education and Human Development (GSEHD). Students, alumni, faculty, staff, and community have voiced their overwhelming objection of the Administration’s strategic plans to dismantle GSEHD, and vow to continue challenging the austerity politics enacted through the Administration’s plans to “right-size” GSEHD by exercising our right to academic freedom and protest. We demand a resolution of our demands by Board of Trustees meeting the week of March 18-21, 2026:

1. An immediate halt to firings and the reinstatement of all faculty who were terminated;

2. A written plan clearly communicating how GSEHD will maintain the curriculum, academic quality, and areas of faculty expertise promised to students;

3. Transparent democratic decision-making processes that meaningfully represent all GSEHD community members in any restructuring of the school.
