Hi everyone. I set up a shop on Etsy a little while ago but I am still pretty new here.

I just had my first bad review, complaining the order has not arrived yet ( international ) I am absolutely gutted about this rating, I feel they could have messaged me to ask about it first instead of leaving a reviewing saying I have ripped them off.

Anyway.. they have said it has been x amount of time since it was supposed to arrive, going by the estimated arrival date, however, the date is set to a stupidly fast time, like 5-7 days tops. I would be changing it to closer to 14 days for these international sales / orders but I am not sure where I can change it. Can anyone help?

Also I don't suppose there is a way to correct the review once the issue is resolved or is it fully down to the buyer? I can't help but feel during this COVID phase, the delivery review is a little harsh.

Thanks in advance

Thank you, I am going to try and set this up now. I presume dispatch time is seperate and is more about how long you have to send the parcel off?

Possibly a stupid question but is policies a section somewhere on etsy or do you just mean to write it on my profile somewhere? Thanks again

I am specifically wanting to update my estimated arrival time for Royal Mail 1st class post. (I don't have Royal Mail selected in my shipping profiles, because their estimated delivery times are inaccurate, but on the Policy section on my shop's home page, it refuses to allow me make changes).

I'll be interested in the answer to this one. I am very careful to get items out the door as promised. Awhile back, though, a customer bought an item, then asked me to hold it for six weeks because she was going on a cruise. I moved the shipping date as far as I could, but it still showed a late shipping date to meet her request to have the item delivered after she returned home.

Custom artwork to be shipped abroad, big order (130) and several items. I spent about 2 weeks working with the customer on the artwork. Customer then wanted more items, so i put dispatch back to save on shipping as agreed with the customer. Then when I finally got close they email me and ask if I can hold it until March as he has been called away abroad on business.

It seems you can only increase dispatch time once. In this case we agreed I could mark it dispatched anyway (otherwise etsy would show like 5 weeks overdue which im sure would trigger something) and he is going to let me know when he is back and able to receive the order.

I am having a similar issue. My custom order is delayed another week but I already changed the "ship by" date once so Etsy won't let me change it again. Now it shows 13 orders late by 2 days, and I don't know if I can create shipping labels, but hold off on dropping them until they're ready next week. Has anyone dealt with this? Thanks in advance!

If you mark something as completed on Etsy using their postage service, does it dispatch it on time regardless of when you choose a date of "actually posting it" from the drop down menu? Cos I've just marked something as completed using the label service as it's due to go tomorrow (30th Dec) but I chose the latest date, which is 31st and worried that will still go against me for not posting on time if that makes sense or does it only count for "completing" it? I only chose the latest date so the label will still be valid for longer, if it will!

It is the processing time frame that is important here. If you bought a label and created a label for the 31st that is when the notice is sent to the buyer. The package needs to be in the hands of the postal system on the date chosen or the day before if your postal system allows it.

My shop is only a few months old. I hand make wood crafts. My sales have boomed the last month and a half. However, I've had to ship an order late here and there. I've communicated with the buyers and they've all been understanding, but it's kind of a drag that I've had to miss the expected ship dates.

I just made Star Seller for September and right away my on-time shipping rate has had to suffer so I'm sure I'll lose my Star Seller rating in October. I thought that maybe I can save my Star Seller status by changing my processing time so I won't be late anymore. But I'm not sure that is the best strategy if it's just going to hurt my listings' visibility.

As far as I know, extending your ship-by date has no negative impact, whereas shipping late does. I've had different processing times - I typically ship the next day, but want to give myself some space, in case something comes up. It has not affected my traffic or sales in the least.

It's perfectly fine to update the ship by date every now and then (for example, if a buyer requests shipping on a later date). But it should not become a standard procedure. It is better to opt for longer processing times and surprise your buyers with a quick delivery than to disappoint them with a longer than advertised delivery time.

I did this a few years ago and it made my life so much easier and I didn't notice any turn down in sales. I make it clear in the description and in the message that goes out automatically with the order confirmation that if the buyer needs it for a set date to let me know and I will TRY to prioritise their order.

Yes, but make sure that everyone on your guest list is savvy with computers and smartphones first. If you have any concerns about particular guests receiving the save the date, make sure to follow up with a phone call or note.

While save-the-dates are not mandatory, they're a helpful way for guests to mark the date on the calendar as soon as your venue is booked. Since they tend to be more casual than wedding invitations, a save-the-date can also be a fun and creative way to announce your engagement.

We do sympathise. If you're a stationery lover through and through, it's hard to embrace the idea of going electronic with something as important as your big day communications. However, we're here to tell you that digital save the dates could save you valuable time, money and stress - not to mention looking incredibly good.

The thing about save the dates is that you need to send them as early as possible. You may have seen advice saying 6 months in advance - we say, get them out as soon as you've booked your venue and finalised your guest list, even if that's 18 months before the wedding. You don't need to include the finer details at this stage; all you're trying to do is make sure people plug that date into their iCals and know where they'll be going for your celebration.

Online save the dates are the stress-free way to do that. You can get them out at speed, and usually virtual stationery will be less expensive than printed versions - handy when you're right at the start of the planning process and putting down deposits on big-ticket items like the venue, photographer and dress.

If you're picturing a standard email, stop right now. Professional online save the date templates suit all kinds of wedding styles, from laidback boho to full-on glam, and can often be send by WhatsApp and text. You can even get lined virtual envelopes!

Save the dates are very important if you want to avoid your guests getting booked up. This is particularly true if you're getting married in peak wedding season, when they may be invited to several celebrations. You should also give plenty of notice if you're getting married at time of year when people traditionally go away or organise family gatherings, such as school holidays and the run-up to Christmas.

But even if you're getting married in autumn, winter or on a weekday, it's still important to send save the dates. By doing so, you're showing respect for your guests' time. Childcare, accommodation, travel - all those things can take time to organise, so your loved ones will appreciate having as much notice as possible. Online save the dates are a quick and easy way to give them the when and the where. Once your guests have that key information, you can take your time over the actual invitations.

As soon as possible after you've booked your venue. Online save the dates are the fuss-free way to send the information to your guests. Rather than ordering printed versions, tracking down each guest's address, addressing all the envelopes and dealing with postage, you can send online save the dates with a few clicks. And as the digital designs you can get nowadays are so chic, your electronic save the dates will look good enough to get everyone excited!

There are no rules about save the date wording, but we suggest keeping it simple. Just include the essentials: date and location, and ideally the venue. You could add that a formal invitation will follow. Oh, and your names, so your guests know whose wedding it is! ff782bc1db
