Why is it necessary to put the reference code Covid 19 - GG 2012686 for overseas donations (Rotary Singapore online payment) or bank transfers (via Rotary Singapore or Belur)?
Because both Rotary Belur and Rotary Singapore are large NGOs with multiple ongoing community projects. The reference codes will be used to separate out the fund donated for helping public hospitals in West Bengal in their fight against COVID 19.
Why is it necessary to email covidhelpwb@gmail.com to mention donor name and address?
This serves two purposes: First, this is used for cross-checking the account donations to make sure every penny donated for this cause is fully utilized for this cause. The purpose is transparent and comprehensive record keeping. Second, under FCRA act of India, anonymous foreign donations are non-compliant. We can completely assure you that any information you provide will be treated with utmost confidentiality.
