STATUS: LEAST CONCERN
It is a low- growing; up to 40 cm tall in one year, leaves are in spirals, simple. Linear, with broad ends; it flowers 3 to 4 per cluster without corolla. Native to the Galapagos, it is an endemic plant that looks like a weed ; it grows on the lava fields .There are five species and 4 subspecies in the Galapagos. It grows during the dry season on the rain forest. Mollugo flavescens belongs to the carpet-weeds’ family, species: herb .They produces a capsule fruit that is a dry that splits open, numerous seeds, dark reddish brown, or black ; the fruits are shiny with multiple small bumps.
