The Galapagos blue butterfly is a Endemic species because it can be found only in the Galapagos Islands; it is small and moves quickly in order to avoid predators. It is found in the islands of “Espanola, Fernandina, Floreana, Isabela, Marchena, Pinta, Pinzon, San Cristobal, Santa Cruz and Santiago.” The butterflies have the important role of pollination in the Galapagos Islands. Flowers need pollination to survive; bees are the primary source of pollination, but butterflies are the second source of pollination for the plants; however the Galapagos islands have only one type of bee: the carpenter bee, so the butterflies need to help the bees, this happen when the plants bloom in rainy season, so the butterflies thrive between December to May.
