Species galapagensis
Is a new species of fungi in the Galapagos Islands belongs to the genus Pholiota that in general are small to medium sized mushrooms in the family Strophariaceae. They live on wood at the base of trees or on the rooting roots. The genus Pholiota includes mushrooms; with scaly, sticky to dry top surfaces, the spores are sooth and with range of colors like brown, light brown or mix yellow color. They have a characteristic similar to “garlic, lemon, radish, onion, or skunk”. They can be toxic It has a strong taste, resembling radishes; they may be poisonous if mix with alcohol.
