I have a strong sense of duty to share my knowledge and research with the general public. I am heavily involved in outreach programs and work hard to instill scientific literacy and an awe of the natural world in the people I meet.

DDIG science teacher program

I worked as a mentor in the Burke Museum of Natural and Cultural History's DDIG program, a professional development program that teaches K-12 science teachers about paleontology. Participants get to join a paleontological field expedition in the Cretaceous and Paleogene sediments of Montana, where they learn how to discover and collect fossils and how we use those fossils to test hypotheses about the history of life.

Museum outreach events

I have done outreach at the Burke Museum in Seattle, WA and the Museum of Natural and Cultural History in Eugene, OR. I have experience educating the public about paleontology and the inner workings of the museum. I have worked with people of all ages, from the tiniest dino fans to adults at happy hour.
