My name is Savannah Compere and I am originally from New York, Long Island. I lived there until I was 18, then went to college at SUNY Oneonta, NY. While at college, I was introduced to the program, Semester at Sea. A floating university that travels to 13 different countries as students learn while being emerged in other countries. 

During my Semester at Sea vogue, I learned about Teach for America. I became a corp member in 2020 and was relocated to Memphis, TN, to teach 5th grade. I now live in San Jose Ca, and work at Rockethship Alma as a 5th grade Humanities Teacher, and Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Lead.
