This Privacy Policy explains how NexBrief ("the App," "we," "us," or "our") collects, uses, and shares information when you use our mobile application. NexBrief is a news-browsing app that lets you swipe through headlines by category.
By using NexBrief, you agree to the collection and use of information as described in this policy.

## 1. Information We Collect
### 1.1 Information We Collect Automatically
**Approximate location (country-level).**
When you open the App, we send a request to a third-party IP geolocation service (ipapi.co) to detect your country. This is used only to show you news relevant to your region. We do not collect precise GPS location, and we do not store your IP address on our own servers.
**Advertising and analytics identifiers.**
NexBrief displays ads through Google AdMob. AdMob and its partners may automatically collect:
- Your device's advertising ID (e.g., Google Advertising ID)
- Device information (model, operating system, language, screen size)
- App interaction data (e.g., when ads are shown, clicked, or dismissed)
- IP address (for approximate location and fraud prevention)
This data is collected and processed by Google under its own privacy policy. See Section 4 below.
**Usage data.**
We do not currently operate our own analytics; app crash or diagnostic data may be collected automatically by Google Play services as part of standard Android/iOS platform behavior.
### 1.2 Information You Choose to Share
**Sharing feature.**
When you tap the share button, NexBrief opens your device's native share sheet (via the Share API) to let you share an article link through apps of your choosing (e.g., WhatsApp, Messages, Email). NexBrief does not access, read, or store the content of your messages or contacts — the share action is handled entirely by your device's operating system.
### 1.3 Information We Do Not Collect
We do not require account creation or login. We do not collect your name, email address, phone number, or contacts unless you voluntarily provide them to us directly (e.g., by emailing us with a support request).
---
## 2. How We Use Information
We use the information described above to:
- Show news content relevant to your country/region
- Display and measure the performance of ads that help keep the App free
- Maintain and improve the App's functionality and reliability
- Detect, prevent, and address technical issues or fraudulent activity
---
## 3. Third-Party Services
NexBrief relies on the following third-party services to function. Each processes certain data under its own privacy policy:
| Service | Purpose | Data Involved |
|---|---|---|
| **Google AdMob** | Displaying interstitial ads | Advertising ID, device info, ad interaction data, approximate location |
| **Currents API** | Fetching news articles | No personal data sent; category/country query parameters only |
| **ipapi.co** | Country detection | IP address (processed by ipapi.co, not stored by us) |
| **Article source websites** | When you tap "Tap to know more," you are taken to an external website to read the full article | Governed by that website's own privacy policy |
We do not control and are not responsible for the privacy practices of these third parties. We encourage you to review their respective privacy policies:

## 4. Google AdMob & Advertising Disclosure
NexBrief uses Google AdMob to serve ads. AdMob may use the advertising identifier and other data to show ads that are more relevant to you, and to measure ad performance.
- You can opt out of personalized advertising through your device settings:
- **Android:** Settings → Google → Ads → "Opt out of Ads Personalization"
- **iOS:** Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking → disable "Allow Apps to Request to Track"

## 5. Children's Privacy
NexBrief is not directed at children under the age of 13 (or the equivalent minimum age in your jurisdiction), and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If we become aware that a child has provided us with personal information, we will take steps to delete it.
---
## 6. Data Retention
We do not maintain user accounts or persistent user profiles on our own servers. Location and news requests are processed in real time and are not stored by us beyond the duration needed to serve your request. Data collected by AdMob is retained according to Google's own retention policies.
---
## 7. Data Security
We take reasonable measures to protect information processed by the App. However, no method of transmission over the internet or electronic storage is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
---
## 8. Your Choices
- **Ad personalization:** You may opt out at any time via your device settings (see Section 4).
- **Location:** The App only detects your country via IP address; it does not request device GPS/location permissions.
- **Uninstall:** You may stop all data collection by the App at any time by uninstalling it from your device.
---
## 9. International Users
If you are using NexBrief from outside the country in which our servers or third-party providers (such as Google) operate, your information may be transferred to, stored, and processed in a different country. By using the App, you consent to this transfer.
---
## 10. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with a revised "Last updated" date. Continued use of the App after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.

*This policy is provided as a template based on the data practices described by the app's current codebase (AdMob, IP-based country detection via ipapi.co, Currents API, and native device sharing). Before publishing, replace all bracketed placeholders, confirm it matches your finalized production build (e.g., final AdMob ad unit IDs, any analytics SDKs you add later), and consider having it reviewed by a legal professional to ensure compliance with Google Play's User Data policy, GDPR, CCPA, and other applicable regulations in the regions where your app is distributed.*
