Saugeen Paddlers

Hello all !

Spring is officially here and although there is still snow, we are looking forward to our annual North Canoe Race on the Saugeen River!

The date of the race is Saturday June 1, 2024. Get a crew together and come out and practice.

Cost is $25 / per paddler. We will supply the North Canoe, but you may want to bring your favorite paddle and lifejacket (if you have either). 

Registration is at 9 am, First Race is at 10. There will a free BBQ for lunch. If you like, come out for the pot luck supper too! 

The race is at the Saugeen Paddlers trailer in Paisley, Ontario on the banks of the Saugeen River ( Saugeen River Access point 9b). 

The race is a short sprint with 4 turns in the river, followed by a bobber race.

The bobber race is a scramble to gather 4 uniquely colored floating bobbers.  First team back to the starting line with all 4 bobbers wins. 

Each race runs from 5 -10 minutes.
