Ms. Breeden

3rd & 4th Grade | Math Literacy

Hello my wonderful students!!

Welcome to room 204. I am Ms. Breeden, and I will teach 3rd and 4th grade calculation class this year. I look forward to helping you set and reach your math goals! We will sharpen our calculation skills by playing games, completing projects, conducting experiments, and going on field trips. We will take the skills we learn and actually apply our learning to real-life scenarios. I am so excited to see how much you will grow this year!

Did you know:

When I was in middle school, math was my least favorite subject. I was afraid of it and did not understand many of the skills.

Why I Teach:

Teaching actually chose me. I did not plan on becoming a teacher when I was in college. While in school, I had many part-time jobs, but the one that stuck with me was an after-school program at an elementary school in Baltimore. It was there that I began my love for teaching and interacting with students and their families. I learned that this interaction completed me, and I finally felt that I had discovered my true talent- teaching. I ended up working at that organization my entire college career and for many years after I graduated. I continued to work there even after I started actually teaching! It was there that I recognized that I was successful with developing engaging lessons, managing safe classrooms, producing student gains, and building family-school relationships.

"Our deepest fear is not that we are weak. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our light, not our darkness that most frightens us. We ask ourselves, who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented, fabulous? Actually, who are you not to be? You are a child of God. Your playing small does not serve the world ... As we are liberated from our own fear, our presence automatically liberates others." - Marianne Williamson
