Batac is a component city in the province of Ilocos Norte, Philippines. It is known as the "Home of Great Leaders", as it is the hometown of many significant figures in the history of the Philippines. Among them is the former Philippine president Ferdinand Marcos. It is also the birthplace of Gregorio Aglipay, the founder of the Philippine Independent Church and Gen. Artemio Ricarte, the "Father of the Philippine Army".
The tourist attractions in Batac, Ilocos Norte are concentrated. There's no need to hire a tricycle to tour you around unless you are not a fan of walking.
If you come early, you may start with the Parish of Immaculate Heart (Batac Church) then roam around Riverside Empanadaan and Ricarte Park before you proceed to Marcos Museum and Marcos Ancestral House.

Marcos Museum and Marcos' Ancestral House open around 9:00AM. There's an entrance fee of P50.00 for adults and P30.00 for children. While waiting, you may want to check the World Peace Center where you can find a huge collection of Marcos' photographs celebrating his achievements and milestones of his leadership.
After your Batac , you may proceed to City of Paoay for other tourist attractions. Please note that transportation from Batac to Paoay is challenging. I suggest you hire a tricycle to Paoay or walk back to Marcos Avenue (crossing) and wait for jeepneys.
Here's a short video of Batac city proper. When I arrived around 6:00AM the streets are almost empty then it just transformed and got really busy around 7:00AM.
