I am an Assistant Professor in the Department of Accountancy at the College of Business, City University of Hong Kong. I earned my Ph.D. in Accounting from the University of Southern California, following an MBA in Finance and a B.Tech in Electrical Engineering.

My research exploits structured and unstructured data (such as SEC filings, social media sentiment, Wikipedia edits, and analyst reports) to study how financial and nonfinancial information is disclosed by corporates, intermediated by the media and financial analysts, and acted upon by external and internal stake holders in contexts—such as M&A and ESG—marked by strategic change and heightened information asymmetry.  

At CityU, I have taught a range of undergraduate and graduate courses, including Financial Reporting, Introductory and Intermediate Financial Accounting, and Risk Management.
