I'm kinda new to android and only today I've stumbled upon a problem of saving some pictures recieved in email to my phone through Outlook app. I can open them, share them, save to (One/Google) Drive, Google Photos you name it. But for the love of god, I am not able to find a button that would allow me to save the pic to my phone storage.

So, here's a thing: Suddenly my Note phone appears incapable of sending a photo to my hotmail account. Used to- it was bulky, but I don't like having everything everywhere- my phone is mostly a phone, my tablet is a reader, and if I want my usual email, I use my laptop. But suddenly this past week, when I use the app-widget thingie to send a photo to my primary email (NOT the phone's primary, which is gmail, of course) for use on my laptop, it appears to go, but never appears in my hotmail account.

Days later- still no pics. Tried 'em again, still no pics.

Another great advantage of using Outlook on your Galaxy smartphone is that it is fully optimized for Samsung DeX. Available on many of the latest Galaxy smartphones and tablets, DeX lets you extend your mobile device to the desktop by connecting to an HDMI or Miracast-enabled monitor and pairing a keyboard and mouse.

I use the Gmail app to read emails on my Android phone. I defined two accounts, a Gmail account and a Hotmail account. The Gmail account works w/o a problem, for syncing, reading, writing and deleting emails.

We started transitioning (sadly) from Windows Phones to Android phones within the company. On occasion I have run into an odd and frustrating behavior, and I'd like to share what I finally stumbled on to deal with the problem.

Symptom: In Outlook, you have set up a live.com/outlook.com account for a user. and when you try to toggle on the option for "Sync contacts", it immediately toggles off without any error message or pop-up explanation of any kind. This leaves you frustrated to say the least.

Non-working steps: Rebooting phone / Soft reset of phone / delete and recreate account in Outlook / resetting account within Outlook / messing with the built-in Android Contacts app / complete reset of device / uninstall and reinstall Outlook app

We don't run Exchange.

I don't want users using the Gmail app. In fact, I have a directive to "de-Google" the phones as much as possible. We're a full Windows environment around here.

In fact, all my users are about as tech savvy as a pipe wrench. They literally hire people around here who did not know what I meant by "open you start menu" when they started here.

We use an email hosting company. Users do not have the passwords to their email accounts, MS accounts, etc. The only password they know is the one that logs them into their PC (Windows domain here), and I handle everything else, dumbing down things as much as possible for our end users. the construction industry does not attract the best and brightest. We have field staff who are illiterate (literally), and sales staff that are all over 50 and need tech at a Fisher-Price level for them to be able to use it.

when you say the gmail client, thats not the default android mail client, there is one built into most stock roms of android atleast of some kind, on my Galaxy S7 i have the Gmail app and a normal Email app that sync's fine with my normal hotmail mailbox

Emailing pictures from a smartphone is quite simple. You will normally use two apps, one for the email and one for browsing your gallery of pictures. If you are using an Android phone, you can use the Outlook or Gmail app and the Photos app (or any other photo gallery app that you use to see photos in your phone). If you are using an iPhone, you will be using the Outlook or Mail app and the Photos App.
