Dr. Ramkrishna Sarkar (Principal Investigator)

Dr. Sarkar graduated with his Master's degree in chemistry from the Indian Institute of Science, Bangalore, and obtained his Ph.D. in polymer chemistry under the supervision of Prof. S. Ramakrishnan at the Indian Institute of Science Bangalore. The Ph.D. thesis work revolves around understanding the microphase separation and self-assembly behaviors of various types of periodically grafted amphiphilic copolymers in both solutions and in solids as well as controlling the inter-lamellar spacing at the sub-10 nm regime. Then, he moved to the Prof. Anja Palmans research group at the Eindhoven University of Technology, Netherlands for his postdoctoral studies. Ramkrishna's expertise cover Polymer synthesis, Dynamic covalent polymeric network, Reusable polymeric (coating) materials, Recycling of polymers, Self-assembly and microphase separation of amphiphilic polymers, Polymeric nanostructure at sub-10 nm, Studies of polymer chain conformation in solution, Single chain polymeric nanoparticle. Ramkrishna joined the department of chemistry at the Indian Institute of Technology Kanpur as an assistant professor in May 2022.
