Dr. Sarkar graduated with his Master's degree in chemistry from the Indian Institute of Science, Bangalore​, and obtained his Ph.D. in polymer chemistry under the supervision of Prof. S. Ramakrishnan at the Indian Institute of Science Bangalore. The Ph.D. thesis work revolves around understanding the microphase separation and self-assembly behaviors of various types of periodically grafted amphiphilic copolymers in both solutions and in solids as well as controlling the inter-lamellar spacing at the sub-10 nm regime. Then, he moved to the Prof. Anja Palmans research group at the Eindhoven University of Technology, Netherlands for his postdoctoral studies. Ramkrishna's expertise cover Polymer synthesis, Dynamic covalent polymeric network, Reusable polymeric (coating) materials, Recycling of polymers, Self-assembly and microphase separation of amphiphilic polymers, Polymeric nanostructure at sub-10 nm, Studies of polymer chain conformation in solution, Single chain polymeric nanoparticle. Ramkrishna joined the department of chemistry at the Indian Institute of Technology Kanpur as an assistant professor in May 2022.

Vatsalya completed his B.Sc ( Hons.) in Chemistry in the Department of Applied Sciences and humanities from Invertis University, Bareilly in 2020 and graduated with his master's degree in 2022 from the National Institute of Technology, Hamirpur, Himachal Pradesh. During his project work, he worked on the synthesis and characterization of Schiff's Base molecules under the supervision of Dr Bharti Gaur. Currently, he is working on the recycling and upcycling of polymers, the synthesis of Dynamic Covalent Polymeric Networks, and their applications. He joined the group as a Ph.D. student in Aug 2022.

Sourabh completed his B.Sc. from PGGC. (P.U.),sector11, Chandigarh. Thereafter he completed his M.Sc. Chemistry in 2023 from  NIT, Hamirpur, Himachal Pradesh. He did his project work on Natural Products modified to self-healing polymers under the guidance of Dr.Bharti Gaur. Sourabh was a gold medalist at NIT Hamirpur. Currently, he is working on bio-derived polymer making, recycling, and upcycling. He joined the group in July 2023.:

Souvik completed his B.Sc. & M.Sc from Visva-Bharati University, Santiniketan, W.B. He completed his M.Sc. Chemistry in 2020 and his project work is on Investigation of the mechanistic pathways of some organic transformations using quantum mechanical procedure under guidance of Dr. Gourab Kanti Das . Currently he is working on bio derived polymer making,recycling and upcycling. He joined the group in july 2023.

Rahul completed his B.Sc. from Kumaun University, Ramnagar, Nainital, Uttarakhand. Thereafter he completed his M.Sc. Chemistry in 2023 from GBPUAT, Pantnagar, Uttarakhand. During his masters he did his project work on polymer laminated biocomposite under the guidance of Dr. M.G.H Zaidi. He joined the group as Ph.D student in July 2024.

Yashi completed her B.Sc. (H) in Chemistry from Shri RamSwaroop Memorial University, Lucknow in 2021. Thereafter she completed her M.Sc. in Chemical Sciences from Central University of Gujarat, Gandhinagar in 2023. She did her project work on the Synthesis and Structural Characterization of beta-Hairpin structure using Natural and Unnatural amino acids. Currently, she is working on the synthesis of bio-derived polymers and their recycling. She joined the group in July 2024.

Riya completed her B.Sc. (H) in Chemistry from the University of Calcutta. Thereafter she completed her M.Sc. from National Institute of Technology, Warangal. Currently, she is working on the synthesis of Covalent Adaptable Networks (CANs) and their closed-loop recycling. She joined the group in July 2025.

Dr. Himanshi Chaurasia completed her Ph.D. under the guidance of Dr. S. K. Tripathi at the esteemed Defence Materials and Stores Research and Development Establishment (DMSRDE), Kanpur. Her doctoral research focused on the Synthesis and Characterization of Single Source Precursors for Semiconductor Thin Films. She also worked  as a Project Associate in DMSRDE, Kanpur. Dr. Himanshi joined the group in Oct 2024 as a project associate.

Research interest: Synthesis of single source precursors, Thin films, Characterization techniques.
