Sarhad Hamza was born and raised in Kurdistan, Iraq. He is a specialist in International Accounting and teaches at the Department of Business Administration, University of Raparin -Kurdistan.

His research concentrates on the intersection of international accounting, economics, and trade as they pertain to multinational corporations and investment, and he has built relationships with academic colleagues in Europe and the Gulf Cooperation Council region to further his research pursuits.

In regards to teaching, the university acknowledged his dedication to the field by presenting him with the Teaching Excellence Award, based on favorable feedback from his students. He is known for his successful teaching style in finance and accounting, which emphasizes student learning through a student-centered approach that challenges students with real-world scenarios.

Recently, he taught accounting courses at the University of Warsaw's Department of Banking, Finance, and Accounting, collaborating with Professors Agata Kocia and Anna Białek-Jaworska. He developed course materials including syllabi, presentations, lecture notes, quizzes, and exams. During the COVID-19 pandemic, he adapted to remote teaching through the Moodle platform to maintain interaction with undergraduate, graduate, and Erasmus students.

My teaching philosophy has been shaped by both European and Australian educational practices. I recognise the importance of accommodating diverse learning styles and intelligences in my teaching. To this end, I employ a flexible approach, incorporating various teaching methods that are continually evolving. This approach requires dedication, but the reward is fulfilling. I believe that successful teaching requires a combination of curiosity, reflection, empathy, and a commitment to self-improvement. Without these qualities, it can be challenging to achieve teaching goals. In my practice, I prioritise student-centered teaching methods, which focus on enhancing the student's learning experience. This approach leads to better educational outcomes and encourages critical thinking. I treat all of my students with equal respect, regardless of their gender, beliefs, political views, or age

His most recent publication, released in June 2021 after undergoing peer review, expanded upon Markusen's (2002) Knowledge-Capital model. Currently, he has three joint research papers under review.
