These are my current policies! They continue to develop and change as I grow as a tattooer.
My goal is to be as transparent as possible so everyone is safe and satsfied :). If you find anything to be unclear, please reach out!
Before Your Appointment
All initial booking requests must be made through the link found at the bottom of this page and my IG bio. In this form I ask information about how to contact you, the design you're interested in, at what size/placement and what budget.
My minimum is $200 for flash and $250 for customs. This is the cost of my most simple designs , cost goes up based on detail, size and placement.
It may take me up to 1-2 weeks to respond to your request by email. If you have not seen an email response from me by then, please check your spam folder / reach out to me to check in!
I ask for a deposit to confirm all appointments. Your appointment is not confirmed until I have recieved it.
For all pieces I require a $100 deposit . Please be prepared to pay this at time of booking through Zelle. Information on how to do so will be sent to your email once an appointment time is chosen. If zelle is unavailable to you, please reach out for info on other payment methods.
This deposit is applied drectly toward the final cost of the tattoo. Deposits are non-refundable.
I allow 1 reschedule up to 48 hrs before the appointment without penalty. In this case, your deposit will transfer to your rescheduled appointment. If you need to reschedule again or within that time frame, I do require an additional deposit.
Day of Appointment
Cash is king! Asside from the deposit, I am only able to take cash (USD) on the date of your appointment for the remaining cost of the tattoo. Please come to the studio prepared for this, we unfortunately no longer have an ATM on site.
My studio is located in north brooklyn, an exact addres will be shared with you at booking.
I apply a 20 minute grace period for each appointment. If you are more than 20 minutes late, you will likely need to forfeit the appointment and reschedule with an additional deposit. Please try not to arrive more than 10 minutes prior to your appointment as I may still be working with the prior client, right on time is best!
If you do not make it to your appointment at all, with no warning to me (no call, no show) you forfeit your deposit, the design and your opportunity to be tattooed by me or any tattooer at Backhand in the future.
I invite my clients to bring 1 guest with them to their appointment unless otherwise discussed. Please notify me ahead of time if you plan to do so.
Tips are never required, but always appreciated! While cash is prefered, I also would love to accept the following: house plants, weed, baked goods ( i do not have any allergies), ceramics, and most anything handmade!
After the Appointment/ General Policies
Aftercare insrtuctions are provided at the end of each session. If you have any questions or issues during the healing proccess, please do not hessitate to reach out.
Touch ups on my past pieces are and will always be free! I recommend you give your tattoo at least 2 months to heal before requesting one. Please contact me on instagram or by email with a photo of the piece you'd like touched up to schedule.
I do not tattoo anyone under the age of 18 in accordance with New York State Law.
As a self emoloyed artist in a private space, I hold the right to refuse service for any reason.
