Purpose of This Privacy Policy
Saram Note is a local-first relationship memory app that helps users quickly record important context about people and recall it when needed.
Because Saram Note handles information that may be sensitive, such as relationship records, notes, schedules, and reminders, we consider privacy protection and transparent data processing to be important principles.
This Privacy Policy explains what information Saram Note processes, for what purposes the information is used, whether any information is transmitted externally, and how users can manage or delete their data.
Basic Principles
Saram Note’s core data is, by default, encrypted and stored locally on the user’s device.
Saram Note does not store on a server or automatically sync to the cloud the content of people information, notes, quick records, schedules, reminders, or other data directly entered by the user.
Saram Note follows these principles.
All records about people and relationships are stored on the user’s device by default.
The original text of notes, quick records, schedules, or reminders entered directly by the user is not transmitted for app analytics purposes.
Only the minimum usage flow and error information necessary to improve app quality may be collected.
Only permissions required for features explicitly selected by the user are requested.
Personal information and sensitive data are protected on the device.
Personal Information Processed and Storage Location
Saram Note stores information directly entered or selected by the user primarily on the user’s device in order to provide app features.
The main content of relationship records entered by the user, such as people’s names, original note text, original quick record text, and schedule or reminder content, is not transmitted to or stored on external servers for app analytics purposes.
However, cases where the user directly exports a backup file, or where limited analytics or error information is transmitted to improve app stability, are separately explained in this Policy.
3.1 People Information
Users may store the following types of people information in the app.
Name
Nickname or title
Relationship type
Phone number
Email address
Company, organization, role, or job title
Birthday, anniversary, or other dates to remember
Region or place where the person was met
Memory points and additional notes
Reference information selected by the user, such as MBTI
Representative image
Social links
3.2 Records, Schedules, and Reminder Information
Users may store the following information for each person.
Original quick record text
Memory fragments
Schedules or events such as meetings, calls, meals, gifts, health issues, or work-related matters
Reminder title, reminder time, repeat status, and completion status
Timeline information connected to a person
3.3 Contact Import Information
Saram Note may access the device’s contacts to import people information only when the user explicitly chooses to do so.
Contact import is performed only for items selected by the user, and Saram Note does not automatically collect or sync the user’s entire contact list.
3.4 App Lock and Security Information
When the user uses the app lock feature, Saram Note may store the following information on the device to protect access to the app.
An encrypted verification value, not the original 4-digit password or pattern
App lock setting status
Whether biometric authentication is enabled
Saram Note does not collect or store biometric information itself, such as fingerprints or facial data. Biometric authentication uses the authentication features provided by the device operating system.
Use of Device Permissions
Saram Note may request the following permissions to provide app features.
4.1 Notification Permission
Saram Note may request notification permission to provide users with reminders for schedules, birthdays, anniversaries, and other things to remember.
Even if notification permission is not granted, users can still use the app’s basic features, such as adding people, recording information, and searching.
4.2 Microphone Permission
When the user wants to create a quick record by voice, Saram Note may request microphone permission for voice recognition.
Even if voice input fails or permission is not granted, users can still create records by entering text.
Saram Note does not store original audio files. After voice input is converted into text through voice recognition, the text is saved only after the user reviews it.
4.3 Contacts Permission
When the user wants to selectively import people information from the device’s contacts, Saram Note may request contacts permission.
Saram Note does not automatically save or transmit to a server any contacts that the user has not explicitly selected.
4.4 Photo or File Access
When the user selects a representative image for a person, Saram Note may use the photo or file selection feature.
The selected image is stored in the app-specific storage area and displayed in the people list, detail screen, and selection screens within the app.
App Improvement Data and Error Reporting
Saram Note may collect limited app improvement data to improve app stability, analyze errors, and enhance usability.
For this purpose, Saram Note may use app analytics and error reporting tools provided by Google, such as Firebase Analytics and Firebase Crashlytics.
5.1 Information That May Be Collected
The following information may be collected to improve the app.
In this case, the content of information directly entered or stored by the user as described in “3. Personal Information Processed and Storage Location” is not included in app improvement data or error reporting information.

Saram Note does not include the following information in app improvement data or error reports.
Person name
Nickname or title

Actual values of birthdays, anniversaries, or other dates
Original quick record text

Social link URLs
Original contact information
Backup file content
Original app lock password or pattern
5.3 Purpose of Collection
App improvement data and error reporting information are used for the following purposes.
Analyzing the causes of app errors
Improving feature stability
Improving user flows
Improving unnecessary input steps or screens
Improving the quality of core features such as backup, reminders, and quick records
Third-Party Provision and Processing Entrustment
Saram Note does not sell to third parties or provide for advertising purposes the people information, notes, original quick record text, schedule or reminder content, or other information entered by the user in the app.
Third-party services such as Google Firebase Analytics and Firebase Crashlytics may be used to improve app quality and analyze errors. In such cases, the transmitted information is limited to the information necessary for app improvement and error analysis.
Saram Note does not use advertising SDKs and does not sell user data for advertising purposes.
Data Storage and Retention
Saram Note’s core data is stored on the user’s device.
When the user deletes the app or uses the delete all data feature within the app, app data stored on the device, such as people information, records, schedules, and reminders, may be deleted.
When the user directly exports an encrypted backup file, the backup file is encrypted with the password entered by the user and saved to the location selected by the user.
If a backup file is deleted, damaged, lost, or otherwise becomes unavailable, or if the user forgets the password they entered, Saram Note cannot restore the backup file.
How to Delete Data
Users may delete data through in-app features in the following ways.
Delete an individual person
Delete individual records, schedules, or reminders
Delete all data within the app
Delete local data by uninstalling the app
Because Saram Note does not provide an account-based service, there is no separate server account deletion process.

Saram Note may apply the following security measures to protect users’ relationship records and personal information.
Local database encryption
Encryption of representative image files for people

Children’s Privacy
Saram Note is a personal relationship recording app intended for general users.
Saram Note is not primarily directed at children and does not knowingly collect children’s personal information.

Changes to This Privacy Policy
Saram Note may revise this Privacy Policy due to changes in app features, applicable laws or policies, or data processing methods.
