I've been making fan characters and OCs since about 2007. Some of my oldest characters include a red husky inspired by the Balto movies, and a surfing yellow lab named Joe. I'm unsure if any art of them have survived almost 20 years. By creating these characters, I learned how fun it is to write original concepts, and simply just have fun with the characters I'm drawing, and I've never stopped drawing since.
I'm currently in the process of archiving ALL of the characters I've ever created over on Toyhouse and I might archive them here as well if enough people are interested. Some characters I create to tell a story, some I buy to support other artists, some I create for one-off comics, some I create specifically to sell, and some I create just because it's fun.
Furry to me means everything. I've been a furry before I knew that word existed. I think I found the furry community in about 2009 if I recall correctly, but I've been engaging with the community since 2012. I didn't meet anybody else who was this engaged in the furry subculture in person until after the COVID pandemic restrictions were lifted in 2022, where I attended my first convention, Anthrocon! I genuinely think this convention rewired my brain and caused me to start coming out of my shell more than I ever have.
I grew up watching furry vlogs, and while I'm by no means a professional videographer, I think it's nice to have a video memento once I've gone to a convention. Since I started going to conventions in my freshman year of college, I haven't had the time to put together many videos documenting the fun times I've had with my friends and I because of the amount of pressure college has been. Now that I've graduated, I'm excited to start editing the hours of footage I've gathered over the years at various cons!
Since 2013, I've been involved in the multi-animator project community. I adore collaborating with people, and coming together to make a bigger project that could never be done solo. So far I think I've hosted and re-hosted roughly 17 animation projects over the years. In recent years, I've taken a step back from these collaborations to focus on my education, but now that I've graduated, I have a lot more free time on my hands!
In the future I might hire some people to help me manage these projects, because they do take a lot out of me and the other animators when all is said and done and the project is completed. I find it might be easier to ask for assistance instead of completely abandoning projects that people have taken hours of their life to help me with. Check the site updates notice board or my socials for any openings in these projects I might have!
I don't, or rarely, make money off of this type of art I make for myself. If you'd like to continue to see more of what I'm super passionate about, tips are always welcome on my Ko-Fi ! Absolutely zero pressure though, I get it !! :3
