Teaching

Teaching should be empathetic, equitable, and effective. I believe in teaching so that my students feel understood and accepted yet challenged. I love when a student masters a challenging concept or when they get excited about a concept. I also love watching my students grow as young adults.

Economics is an exciting discipline that is relevant to so many fields. My hope is that students leave my classes not knowing what to think but how to think. I hope to challenge them to think critically about the world and to help them to become leaders in business, policy, and education. However, I also hope to make learning economics fun! In my classes, we listen to Taylor Swift and watch Parks and Recreation while learning important  concepts.

I have experience teaching Principles of Economics (both Micro and Macro) as well as Urban Economics. However, I am also able to teach a variety of applied micro topics including Economics of Education, Game Theory, Experimental Economics, and more.
