About Sarah
The 2020-2021 school year marks my 19th year in education. In May 2002 I graduated with a BA in History and a BS in Education with concentrations in English and History from Concordia University, Nebraska. From 2002-2005 I taught all four grade levels of English at Luther East High School in Lansing, Illinois. I also co-directed four drama productions with the science teacher as part of my extracurricular responsibilities. From 2005-2010 I taught sophomore English and non-AP level juniors and seniors at Indianapolis Lutheran High School. I also ran the theatre program, directing four fall play productions and five spring musicals; I started the International Thespian Society charter during my second year there, increasing student involvement in all areas of the theatre program. In 2010 my husband was transferred to Fort Wayne, Indiana where I started my Master's Degree in English at Indiana University-Purdue University, Fort Wayne, now Purdue University, Fort Wayne. For two years I worked as a Graduate Teaching Assistant, teaching Freshman Composition while working towards my degree, which was finally completed in May 2013. In August 2011 I started teaching part-time at Concordia Lutheran High School, Fort Wayne. In 2012 I was moved up to full time and started the AP English Language and Composition program. For the next three years I taught American Literature and AP Language and Composition. During my last year at Concordia, Fort Wayne, I picked up Yearbook and began learning the process of Yearbook production. In July 2015 our family moved to Spring, Texas, so that I could serve at Concordia Lutheran High School, Tomball, Texas, where I recently taught American Literature, AP Language and Composition, Dual Credit English, and Yearbook. I previously taught English 2 Pre-AP and AP English Literature and Composition while serving on staff. I also served as the English Instructional Leader. I currently teach English at Franklin Central High School in Indianapolis.
I have been married for 19 years to my husband Jeff, who is an IT manager. We have two children and two dogs. When I'm not teaching, I enjoy reading, writing, camping, biking, and running.
