About Me:

Hello! My name is Sara Guevara Martinez and I'm currently a senior at the Marine Biology Research Program at the Urban Assembly New York Harbor School. I like to read thrillers and mystery novels. Two of my favorite books are A Danger to Herself and Others by Alyssa Sheinmel and A Good Girl's Guide to Murder by Holly Jackson. I'm an EIA and an ISTP. I'm interested in majoring in marine biology or forensics science. I want to make a change in our community and help impact the environment. I am able to adapt to my environment, creating data sheets, organizing data, taking notes, as well as having a professional attitude in a professional setting. I am working on time management as well as communication.

The beauty of nature

I'm sure everyone has had moments where you need to stop what you are doing and just take a breather. Whenever I feel stuck and stressed, I like to go on a walk with my mom or by myself. Being able to just look around at how beautiful the world can be and seeing the leaves change from green to yellow, red, orange during autumn makes me feel happy. I enjoy the fresh air that takes my worries away for a moment while blowing my hair in different directions. Remember to take a break when you feel the need to. My mom always reminds to take small steps at a time and to never give up even when the road ahead seems long.

Food

I enjoy eating delicious food! I love savory and salty meals! My go-to meals are sushi, lasagna, salmon with rice, pozole, tamales, barbeque ribs, and seafood boil! My mom's rice and chilaquiles and my father's barbeque ribs, tamales, pozole, and guac will always make me cave in to eat more than one plate.

I enjoy taking photos! Though I'm not the best at taking photos of people, I enjoy taking photos of nature and the scenery that is in front of me.
