Hello! My name is Sara Bornstein. I'm born, raised, and live in Juneau, Alaska.
I have been a Web Content Manager / Publications Specialist / Accessibility Specialist for the State of Alaska for the last three years. However, I am a Librarian & Archivist by degree with a certificate in Digital Archiving and eight years of Library Special Collections experience. A growing interest in digital content creation led to my career change.
In 2015 I started a literary inspired travel blog, A Suitcase Full of Books, for which I am writer, editor, photographer, videographer, video editor, social media content creator, and all other roles.
After years of working in a professional system that often discourages asking if "because it's always been done this way" is a good reason to keep doing tasks or creating user experiences inefficiently, I discovered the field of UX Design, which encourages rethinking the way things are done! Not only that, the field incorporates so much of what I'd like to do for work:
I am always asking why we do things the way we do them and trying to find better ways for staff and users alike to complete necessary tasks.
I excel at research and information architecture and find the process of searching for and organizing information fun.
I love creating online content, which includes writing & editing articles, as well as taking photos, audio, and video and editing them into publishable content.
