Throughout my academic journey, I have had the incredible opportunity to engage in various internships and training programs that have significantly enriched my knowledge and practical skills in mathematics and its applications. Here, I share some of the most impactful experiences that have shaped my academic and professional growth.
During the summer of 2016, I had the privilege of working under the guidance of Prof. Natesan Srinivasan at the Department of Mathematics, Indian Institute of Technology Guwahati. My project, titled “Efficient Numerical Methods for Singularly Perturbed Differential Equations,” allowed me to delve into advanced numerical techniques and their applications to complex differential equations. This experience not only honed my analytical skills but also deepened my appreciation for the power of mathematics in solving real-world problems.
In 2015, I participated in a Training Program in Mathematics at the National Institute of Science Education and Research (NISER), Bhubaneswar. This program provided me with a solid foundation in various mathematical concepts and techniques, facilitating my understanding of how these principles can be applied in diverse fields.
I also attended the Mathematics Training and Talent Search Program (MTTS) at Dibrugarh University, Assam in 2015. This program focused on nurturing mathematical talent and offered rigorous training in key areas of mathematics, further enhancing my problem-solving and analytical capabilities.
I had the opportunity to participate in two Global Initiative of Academic Networks (GIAN) courses, which enriched my learning experience:
Multi-Objective Optimization: Under the guidance of Dr. Carlos Artemio Coello Coello from CINVESTAV-IPN, Mexico, I explored advanced concepts in multi-objective optimization at IIT Patna. This course provided me with valuable insights into optimization techniques that are pivotal in various applications.
Distributed Network Algorithm: I attended a course led by Dr. Stefan Schmid from the Faculty of Engineering and Science, Aalborg University, Denmark, at IIT Guwahati. This program focused on distributed algorithms, enhancing my understanding of network systems and their mathematical underpinnings.
Most recently, I participated in a project at the North Eastern Space Applications Centre (NESAC), Government of India, where I contributed to the Development of Geospatial Dashboard & Mobile Applications and GeoWeb Analytical Tools. This program, held from July 17th to 21st, 2023, equipped me with practical skills in geospatial analysis and application development, further broadening my expertise in utilizing technology for solving geographical and logistical challenges. My work was documented under Credential ID: RSGIS/GID/2023-24/142.
These internships and projects have enriched my academic journey and also equipped me with practical experiences that I apply in my current research and teaching. I am excited to continue exploring the vast applications of mathematics and making meaningful contributions to the field.
