easy • flavorful • adaptable
My favorite way to relax is bringing my family to the countryside for the day to enjoy fresh air and eat good food together. Of course, that includes grilling fresh family favorites!
A classic Cambodian grilled dish is beef skewers with lemongrass. It’s one of the easiest things you can grill, but has so much flavor!
To make this recipe, use my lemongrass paste. It makes it so easy and quick! In my lemongrass paste, of course there is a lot of lemongrass. I also add some turmeric, galangal, garlic, kaffir lime, and a little salt (not much). It’s all natural with no added preservatives.
Lemongrass and grilled beef is so yummy together. However, you can make this recipe with other types of meat too, and even vegetables. It’s very tasty served with pickled vegetables.
The classic, most delicious way is on the grill, but you could also make it in the oven or cooked on the stove. Sometimes, like in these photos, I am too lazy to use skewers, so I just cook pieces on the grill!
2 tablespoons Saody’s Homemade Products lemongrass paste*
500gr cubes of tender beef (or replace with chicken or pork)
Bamboo skewers (optional)
Vegetables for skewers (optional)
Mix the lemongrass paste with the pieces of beef until they are evenly covered. You can use less paste if you don’t want such a strong taste, or use a bit more if you want bold flavor.
Let the meat rest in the paste to absorb the flavor for at least 20 minutes (or up to a few hours, even overnight). When you’re ready, put into skewers (optional) and grill until cooked. Enjoy!
I hope you love this recipe!
